Can anyone tell me what the protest was in the last in Geelong? I backed the winner (on old form, admittedly), and go to collect but see PROTEST - but no info on which horses. Can anyone shed some light for me?

Race 10 – chisholm caltex dual choice plate – 1200 metres:

G Childs, rider of Mr Baritone (NZ) viewed the Stewards video before deciding not to lodge an objection.

D Moor, rider of Stickpin (NZ), 6th placegetter, viewed the Stewards video and lodged an objection against Stratton Place, 3rd placegetter, on the grounds of alleged interference from the 300m to the winning post. After taking evidence from D Moor and B Smith, rider of Stratton Place, Stewards dismissed the objection. Subsequently, inquiries into Stickpin (NZ) attempting to take a run between Murray Downs and Stratton Place and making contact with the hindquarters of Stratton Place and Stratton Place then shifting in shortly afterwards; Stickpin (NZ) having to be checked; Dunes and General Conclusion having to be checked in consequence; and Mr Baritone being taken in off its course were adjourned to a date to be fixed as B Smith, rider of Stratton Place, had left the course without a clearance.

An inquiry into B Smith leaving the course without a clearance was also adjourned to a date to be fixed.

And also Stickpin (NZ) being unable to obtain a clear run shortly after this incident.

Bon Henri broke through the front of the barriers before N Wilson dismounted and restrained the horse. Bon Henri was examined by the Club’s veterinary surgeon and passed fit to run. Bon Henri raced without its near hind plate as the farrier was unable to re-plate the horse due to it kicking continuously.

Miss La Tar, which was fractious in its barrier stall, reared. C Symons, its rider, dismounted and Miss La Tar was removed from the barriers and also examined by the Club’s veterinary surgeon and passed fit to run.

Due to the above incidents, the start of the race was delayed.

On jumping away, Tereschenko was hampered when tightened for room between Bon Henri and Camp Kalani, which shifted in slightly.

Near the 200m, Mr Baritone (NZ), which was attempting to take a run between Murray Downs and Camp Kalani where there was not quite sufficient room, was disappointed due mainly to Murray Downs (S Murphy) shifting in. Whilst Stewards accepted that G Childs did not have clear running at that stage, they notified S Murphy to exercise the utmost care in future.

Approaching the winning post, Murray Downs was hampered when tightened for room between Stratton Place and Mr Baritone (NZ) which shifted out when laying out. Whilst Stewards accepted Mr Baritone (NZ) was laying out, they notified G Childs he must do his utmost to avoid causing interference in future.
