Ladies and Gentlemen,

Welcome to the Sweet FA's latest competition, Last Captain Standing.

In season 28, captain after captain have found themselves hitting the pine.

With TedDougChris' recent ban this weekend for an incorrect teamsheet, he becomes the 6th Sweet FA captain to miss a game this season.

With the skippers dropping like flies, we here at TiFmedia will be keeping tabs for the rest of the season, eliminating the remaining captains as they find themselves challenging for the chance to be the last captain to play every game in S28. We will be profiling the eliminated captains over the coming weeks, as we relive the thrills and spills of what many Sweet FA observers have called a season.

For those left in the hunt, we will be watching, waiting and commiserating.

Whether they miss games via suspension or simply find their team out of the running for the premiership, the challenge is set for those left to leave all their competitors for dead.

Missed Rd 1 - Squad Submission error

The first domino to fall in Season 28, first year Demons skipper manangatang erred when submitting the Mount Buller squad for Season 28, incurring the wrath of new admin and future tyrant Ant Bear. For breaching rule 3D in relation to Penalties For Incorrect Handling Of Squad Submission/Player Movement , he was suspended for one game after a medium impact penalty was offered, which he dutifully accepted. This of course was before the days of precedents being set, PMs being sent and league legends being activated.​

Barrybran & haydo - Round 10 suspension
Missed Rds 11 & 12 - Deliberately hindering simmers

Despite several captains failing to adhere to rule 3C governing Eligibility to sign players, they inexplicably escaped sanction, meaning the next skippers to face the music were Gumbies co-captains Barrybran and a poor, unsuspecting haydo. After beating their first charge on appeal in Round 2 by succeeding in having their penalties suspended, after being charged loosely under rule 4A's Submission Rules for deliberately hindering the simmers despite not really breaking the rules. The second time around they weren't so lucky.

The Gumbies carried forward suspended penalties from that first charge, and these came home to roost in Round 10, when a second charge for the same offence was leveled at the club after weeks of testing the limits. The skippers once again appealed, only this time their charges were upheld by a busy committee. The Gumbies were hit with a whopping 4 point penalty, with both skippers missing two matches, Rounds 11&12, for their sins.​
