Samson & Delilah. It was pretty good, sorta felt like huffing petrol after it though.
:D:D

(Why I laugh?)

Hey were you as frustrated at the lack of dialouge and at times wanted to punch a hole thru the wall like I did???? I dunno why but "quiet" movies have always made me agitated.. (It took alot for me to get thru the first part of 28 Days Later)... but yeah I'm glad I stuck with it in the end..

Nah not really, I knew it didn't have much dialogue prior but I wasn't expecting it to be these two literally not talking at all through the whole movie.

Have you seen Wall-e? That had very little actual talking too but it was pretty awesome.

I've never viewed anything Pixar has done as a kids movie, I'm surprised you see them like that! At the rate you watch movies eventually you will have seen every movie in the world and at that moment, try watching Wall-e :thumbsu:

LOL.. nah I'm actually really picky about what I watch. Even working at Hoyts and getting free tickets everyday, I would still miss some of those "big blockbuster" movies or whatever.

Yeah i dunno what it is about those kids movies I dont like. I was dragged along to see Shrek... the Invinclibles was "meh".... Finding Nemo??? More like "Finding the door". :D

Just saw the new Sherlock Holmes...went in not really knowing what to expect, I've loved Robert Downey Jr ever since Kiss Kiss Bang Bang but I the previews seemed to suggest a witless Hollywood shoot-em-up.

I should have had more faith - there were still some eye-rolling moments (the various attempts to inject America into the plot, for example) but Downey was brilliant as Holmes and the dialogue was sharp and smart. Was it faithful? Maybe not but it didn't feel jarring. I'd really recommend it.

Watched a couple on the mid week weekend.

District 9 - Thought this was really cool, enjoyed it a lot and I was a little surprised that I did. Final battle arc stretched on a bit though, felt out of place in the context of the rest of the movie.

Inglorious Basterds - Good, but too much Tarantino wankfest. A lot of dialogue where I found myself distracted and had to rewind to read the sub titles. The Basterds themselves were practically a side show. I thought the whole movie was about them but it really wasn't.

Yeah plus Sam Levine (aka Neil Shweiber) had no lines FTL Tarantino.:thumbsdown:

(I still really liked it tho. I like the whole merging fiction with true events)

Star Trek - Was alright. Don't know what else to say except I acquired Moon and will be watching that whilst having pre-stupidly hot night drinks tonight.

Law Abiding Citizen.

Now first of all I should say I ONLY saw this movie to get out of the heat and thus avoiding going home to a stinking hot house... what i really wanted to see was Up in the Air (for a 2nd time) rather than this SHIT. (I knew it would be shit going from the reviews).

Anyway I was pleasantly suprised. It wasnt shit at all. It was ****ing HILARIOUS!!!

Best comedy I've seen in years. Jamie Fox "comedian of the year" FTW. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Up - Seemed like a good movie, couldn't tell you as I fell asleep for most of it. :p
My Year Without Sex - Pretty good Aussie movie, good story to it... Makes you realise how many people have their priorities of life wrong and how a lot of things are just ****ed up.

I have no doubt the inspiration for this movie was drug induced

The latest films I have seen have been..

The Fountain- 2007, Hugh Jackman...very profound..yet an enjoyable intellectual journey

The Devil's Advocate- 1997, Al Pacino is God..and Keanu (quite surprisingly :D) was very good too.

Fight Club-1999...Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, I cannot believe it took me this long to see the film for the first time...great movie

Avatar 3-D...what more can you say?, ****ing amazing...but it still doesn't make me want to turn into a total environmentalist...as much as some of you may like to think...Pandora doesn't exist.

I was amazed by this movie, incredibly under rated. Single handedly put Hugh Jackman into my defend his acting talent at all costs list. This list consists of him and Tom Cruise.

Nick And Norah's Infinite Playlist

Loved it.
Michael Cera is freaking awesome (even though he plays the same character in every film) as usual whilst it was my first introduction to Kat Dennings, who impressed me greatly.
I'm a big fan of the whole 'music is the soundtrack to my life' scenario because i can relate but generally films that try to use it fail miserably so it was refreshing to see a film use it and succeed.

Two movies I rented last night...

500 Days of Summer: Eliiiza, finally saw this. Brilliant!!! What a clever movie. Shame I had to return it today, would have watched it for a second time if i had the chance. Lmao at the song and dance scene after he... you know...

and

The Women: expecting this to be total shit (as i had read in some reviews) but was taken by surprise. Thought it was quite good!!! Not ground breaking stuff at all, but still had some very funny one liners. And im pretty sure there was not one man at all in this film too, lol. And it was set in NYC (most of the time) so go figure...
