You make my dreams come true, you-ooh! I ****ing love it, actually watched it the other night. And I have a video of that scene on my iPod. Do you want me to burn you a copy of the soundtrack?

Saw The Hurt Locker today.
Usually such films aren't my scene but i went along to see if it lived up to the hype.
It didn't.
It was a genuinely good, engrossing and well written film but worthy of 'greatest of all time' talk? Not likely.

500 Days of Summer: Eliiiza, finally saw this. Brilliant!!! What a clever movie. Shame I had to return it today, would have watched it for a second time if i had the chance. Lmao at the song and dance scene after he... you know...
It's one of the favourites in our house and has great 'rewatchability' (i've seen it three times now :p ).

It's a great story and one told in a very unique fashion.

Aw phoo, I posted another post about 500 Days last night, but the server dropped out, and i cant remember what I said.

Yeah Eliza will do nw.

And watched "Baby Mama" last night with Tina Fey. Was alriiiiight. The mom should have been used more in it imo... basically its about Fey wanting to have a baby, but is missing the vital ingredient.. you know the man. A line from the mom on her adopting: "Just as long as you dont get one of those BLACK babies... if i see another movie star.. ooooh look at me and my black baby". :D

If thats not a massive dig at Angelina Jolie, i dunno what is.

You know if something like that happens, you can most likely get it back by clicking on back, and pressing ctrl+z in the box.
Yeah??? It wasnt a "regular" drop out tho, it was that white screen with "there is a problem, administrators are currently working on it, blah blah".

Does that make any difference?

I sincerely hope your boyfriend didn't have to endure any of those (although Baby Mama isn't too bad).

Shutter Island

Beautiful looking film, quality story, good acting and superb directing.
The 'big twist' was well done, and came as a huge surprise (despite this, no doubt many couldn't wait to rush home so they could tell the internet world that they're so smart because they picked the twist within 10 minutes  ).
Scorsese has a real knack for making the audience care for his characters and that is again the case with the lead character, Teddy Daniels.

The Bank Job

Generally i don't tend to see 'action thrillers' but i love British cinema and heard this was quite an intelligent film, something unusual in it's genre.

I really enjoyed it.
It was thrilling, suspenseful and interesting and it achieved all that without needing to throw in gratuitous violence, guns and car chases like so many 'action thrillers' feel the need to do.

Oh and the dude that played 'Dave Shilling' could have easily been mistaken for a 2010 Jimmy Bartel, haircut and all.

But he still managed to complain about me watching them, esp about HJNTIY, so go figure.
HJNTIY appeared to be so bad that i'd complain if my missus even glanced at the poster in the cinema, let alone watched it. ;)

We're actually lucky because i can't stand those silly, overly blokey action films (Commando and Rambo are the exceptions as they're the holy grail and i shan't hear a bad word about either) and she can't stand overly girly chick flicks so neither of us has to go see films we know we'll despise.

What's wrong with that? I've seen it.
Plenty, if you have testicles.

Did you see Valentines Day, too? :p

Lol.. i remember watching movies like that (Commando, Rambo... n Cobra?) like they're rated R, and I'd be like 8 or something watching them at my aunties place. (Coz my family were too cheap to own a VCR when i was that young )... what was that Arnie movie.. where his daughter gets kidnapped... remember that one too.

Yeah as for the chick flick in question that was forced upon my beloved to go see when it was at the movies. Guess it explains his complaints when i get it on DVD even tho he isnt around!!!!!!

The only movie genres I'll put my foot down and wont see is Science Fiction.. -spew-... other stuff like Harry Potthead, etc that he likes i can just stand.

That's Commando !!!!

A young Alyssa Milano played his daughter.

The whole "I lied" sequence (shown in the trailer) is freaking awesome.

I don't like sci-fi either, although the amazing Gattica is the one major exception.

Sounds like we have to have a night of watching chick flicks Shell, especially when Valentine's Day is out. :p

*No I'm not gay, except for a certain few men. :p
Yeah sure.. whenever. I'll see Valentines Day with you on tight arse Tuesday if you like... :thumbsu:

Weird.. i thought Commando was a different movie.

And yeah I like Gattaca (watched it in a Year 11 class last year)... i dunno i dont think that is strictly a "sci fi" movie.. bit thriller, drama.. actually has a storyline to it. And no characters with pointy ears either. ;)

Fair point, that. :D

I'd go so far as to say that i'd rather watch every Sandra Bullock film back to back than i would see a single episode of Star Trek, Battlestar Galatica or anything another sci-fi program.

ouch... you must really hate Sci-Fi....

Altho that new sandy flick is meant to be pretty good... (not like the last one which she ruined and hogged all the screen time from Ryan Reynolds )
