Crash
I don't know how i missed it when it was first released, but i finally saw it this week and adored it.
Usually when you have a film with a) a dozen characters and b) a heap of relatively big name stars the script suffers and the characters aren't given enough time to develop but it was managed beautifully by Paul Haggis.
Given the cast, the quality of the film and the sheer depth of it it's amazing to find out that they only had a budget of $6M.
Don Cheadle and Terrence Howard were superb, Ryan Phillipe, Thandie Newton and Ludacris were all excellent but the two standouts for me were Matt Dillon and Larenz Tate.
Whenever i see Matt Dillon i immediately think of TSAM and see him as a comedy guy so i surprised that i bought into him in a really dramatic role whilst Larenz Tate, who was unknown to me before this, was simply outstanding.
