really followed home, wow. Can they do that.

Not sure whether they can or not, but it happened to me once (well, not home, but to a mates place). It was about 8 years ago, and the cop saw a single early 20's driver and probably thought it would be an easy pick up. The cop questioned me about what I was up to, if I'd been drinking, and if he'd breath tested me would I be zero (I was on my full licence so was a little perplexed by that question). I think the fact I was giving him straight answers with no backchat was irritating him, so exasperated he had no grounds to do anything to me, he took off after a couple of minutes of questioning.

As for being breath tested, think the last time I was breath tested was a couple of years ago. Have to admit most times I've been breath tested the cops have been really good, and have a bit of a chat whilst the result is processing. Best one was one New Years Eve a few years ago, the government had an incentive where if you blew zero, you got a free keyring. So my mates mum (who drove us home that night) drove around looking for a RBT station to be pulled over in. She mentioned to the cop she was looking for an RBT station to get her keyring, and the cop ended up giving us all keyrings lol!

That would make sense, i know if you lose your motorbike license you also lose your car license.
Yeah, if you get done in any vehicle you lose all your licenses (bike, car, boat).

Had my license about 2 years and only been breath tested once which was when I was pulled over on my red P plates for having 2 peer passengers in the car. Any other cop would've let me off being midday on a Monday driving to grab a bite to eat but I got a power hungry cop who felt compelled to fine me unfortunately.

Been breath tested a few times. Been through one or two booze buses and been randomly tested a few times.

How much is a fine for overloading? I've been very close to breaking that rule, it's just so inconvenient and stupid. Instead of having a car of five driving to one destination, they make it three cars. Killing the ozone layer!

So he never actually breatho'd you?

I get breath-tested about once a month.

On my drive to work there's this underpass where the fairly busy road I take (4 lanes) goes underneath a major highway (6 lanes). The underpass is a great place for them to set up a road-block and breath-testing station so the cops are in the shade or sheltered from rain depending on the season.

I tend to catch a lot of the odd-ball ones they set up in Perth. 10.30am on a Friday on John Sanders Drive, 4.30pm on a Thursday on Labouchere Road near the Zoo are a couple that stand out as particularly strange time/location-wise.

They tend to set up on a roundabout on the back way I use to get home so i've been tested at least 4 times in the last year.

I must get grumpy cops because they never chat all I get is "RBT blow into this" "ok you're good"

The people that flash their lights annoy me though, you see flashing lights so you slow down for the speed camera get around the corner and it's an RBT, like others have said they set up where you can't turn around once you see them so flashing your lights is pointless

Wait, when you say bike you mean Motorbike yeh? Can you be breath tested on a pushy?

Pushy. I think it varies from state to state but the wording of the law regarding breath testing in Victoria is they can only test a person in a motor vehicle, so my understanding is that you can refuse a breath test on a bicycle but you could still be arrested for drunk in a public place or something like that if they wanted to pricks about it.

It was about $240, and 3 demerit points, which was ridiculous given the nature of the offence.

That makes sense actually. If they could breatho you on bike you wouldnt think it would be restricted to the road, bike paths would have to be off limits, imaging getting pinged for .07 riding home from the pub.

I remember back when I was a kid in primary school they set up a booze bus every now and again on Armadale Rd Armadale at 3pm in the afternoons to catch people on the way back from either picking up kids from school or work.

No idea if they can or not. It was late at night (I worked in a restaurant that didn't close until 1am) and they were behind me for the entire 20 minute drive. They didn't put their lights on until we turned into my street...which is a dirt road with no street lights, so it was a bit intimidating! They were pretty nice though.

I've also been pulled over by a drug and alcohol tester and had a minimal reading. The policeman said I wouldn't be incriminating myself if I admitted that I'd smoked pot in the previous 6 weeks or so, but I hadn't. Then I had to tell him what I'd consumed that day, and when I mentioned nurofen plus, he said that can give a slight reading and that I could be on my merry way.
My partner took my falcon to work once instead of her Getz and the cops followed her from work for about 20 mins before pulling her over to breath test her

Well now I'm paranoid. I get tested probably every six weeks. I don't know why, I'm a fully licenced female in a mazda 2, nothing exciting. I even got followed home from work one night and got tested just before my driveway.
The cops were obviously stalking ... nothing to worry about, just report them to the police. Or, I guess, maybe that might not work.

I can specifically remember a stack of cop cars set up at a job site in Lilydale, perfect funnel so no cars could U turn or do anything to get out of the way, checking regos for tickets, expired licenses etc. By the end of the day there had to be 50 abandoned cars that had been pulled over and probably another 20 abandoned up the road that just bailed before they got there.
