going to a Melbourne Cup calcutta tonight - anyone got any late tips for what i should bid on?

Although if Mamool gets out to silly odds, i shall have a saver on him as well.

Holy Orders - serious is a great place bet. Ran 800m in under 50sec and has always been known to be tempremental only problem is the jockey

This would be the trifecta I would go for.

12. Makybe Diva - Has shown enough to make the top 3.
11. Grey Song - Reasonable form, will do it.
3. Mummify - The race on Saturday was a joke, they were saving Mummify, i feel sorry for the people who backed Mummify but tomorrow, he'll definately be in the top 3.

My tip to win is Grey Song with Mummify 2nd and Makybe Diva 3rd.

Although, I will not be surprised if Holy Orders makes the top 3. I agree with Slax on Holy Orders, but I don't think it will produce so I will have him running 4th.

I'm sticking with Mummify. No guts no glory...will be laying it on the line! Maykbe Diva to run a gallant 2nd then Fawaz, Pentastic and Frightening.

I'll also be having some on Zazzman in Race 2, backed it last 2 starts at great odds, why stop now.

Had a little system with my mum every year where she puts the money i pick the horse and it worked a few years straight but last year our streak broke

Gonna back She's Archie so got a roughie with the TAB and a favorite in the sweep!

Spreading your dosh too thinly for my liking. Backing more than one or two in the cup makes it hard to come out in front.

Imagine if they picked the superfecta with $1000! That would work out to 1000 times more than if they did it with $1, I think but I'm not sure.

They'd be an even bloodier genius and more of a rich one too.

all the five horses I've backed to win would give me a profit if they did - obviousbly some more than others.

and i'd be majorly shocked if the quinella or trifecta didn't give me a profit if it somehow came around (although VERY unlikely).


Plus i only bet once a year, so averaging $1 a week isn't to bad i reckon...
