I hope Buckley gets taken as well, I'd much prefer Barlow as someone who could come in and make an impact from the get go. We have enough back flankers as it is.

And yeah, I don't get the Iles interest at all. We were discussing him yesterday in Burgan's thread Ed if you didn't see/were interested. Burgan had him going at pick 52.

I have also read (strong rumours), that if the Dees don't take Ball at 18, he'll slide all the way to the Pies.

Therefore to get Ball we need either Gawn or Nathan Vardy available at pick 18 to land Ball.

I too hope Simon Buckley gets picked up by NM.

Definitely the most excited/nervous I've been about the draft.

He's not smart or skillful enough for AFL level. He has some running capacity, that's more or less it.

The Brown Dog on the Brisbane forum seems to think the late mail out of the Lions is they are cooling on the idea of recruiting Ball. Members on their board seem to be hoping for one of Menzel or Bartlett at their pick.

He actually won the BnF at Box Hill and came 3rd in the Liston Trophy which is the BnF for the league.

But yeah, it is irrelevant in my view, he isn't good enough to make it at AFL. He is far to vanilla, bad size, average kick and I think he is pretty one paced.

62 for a player whose played 3 games of TAC cup footy is abit ambitious. Seems more like a rookie pick to me. Has the height for KP and would love for us to pick up atleast one in this draft.

Seems Foxtel have decided to "screw the pooch" on their TV coverage and are only going to show the first round of the draft live, and then cut to interviews, segments, taped sections and only show a live "ticker" across the bottom of the screen after the first round.

So in short, we are likely to not see any of our 4 picks (if we use all 4) on live TV, or on any coverage at all.

Oh well, Foxtel on mute and SEN on full it is then.
