Toast Late drafting and rookies

Much has been made of our poor early drafting but not much has been made of our drafting late and specifically in the rookie draft. Whilst the media hasn’t caught on yet I’ll give us the kudos.

It started with the pick of Sinclair’s and the next two rookies

Sinclair - 124 games
Wilkie - 68
Marshall - 70

That’s also not inclusive of Battle , Paton and our use of late picks to get guys from other clubs.

Here’s the thing the value we’ve gotten out of these guys is insane all the are arguably in our top 10 players . All mature agers and all passes on multiple times by other clubs. Maybe it’s our niche. I just commend our recruiters for backing themselves in those guys.

If only we could do the same with big name, big money recruits (ie Hanners,)
