He has said that he would prefer to remain in Perth. His management is trying to beat some sense into him, trying to convince him that a life as a back-up at Fremantle would be a complete waste.

Recent developments seem to suggest he has indicated a willingness to leave Perth for Richmond with the back up destination being Carlton.

It would seem the managerial beating has worked :thumbsu:

I think alot of you guys are looking at Polak as if he is one of two players when he clearly isn't. You seem to be lumping him either with old players whose careers are almost over due to injury/form ie Hudson, Graham etc or young players whom have been on lists for 4 or 5 years and haven't shown much ie Nicholls, Clinton King, Aaron James etc.

Polak is young, hes got 70 odd games under his belt, he is a number 4 draft pick from the so-called "super draft", and he is the type of player we desperately need right now. He has some issues but I dont see why trading a 2nd round pick would be so horrible, so many second round picks are duds anyway, especially ones as late as ours this year. If we're that worried, I'm sure someone would take Krak and our 3rd round for a 2nd round. Or Hyde for a late 2nd round. We dont really need either of those guys, however we do need Polak. Get his attitude straightened up, and if necessary throw him up forward and put Schulz down back, and he could justify his place in the super draft.

raines, polo, lids, bling, meyer, pattison, all renewed contracts this yr, an much more than their previous contracts

We recontracted plenty, at least 15 guys. Schulz, Gaspar, Richardson, Bowden would have all gotten pay rises. Maybe not much but $10-20k here and there adds up across 15 contracts.

Weaver, I would have thought Gaspar would have taken a reasonable cut rather than a raise.

If miller says we are having problems with our cap ha ha. Like hell we are. Greg Miller is only getting warmed up :)

Richo on vets list, gaspar on minumum wage, chaffey, stafford, kellaway, roach, rodan all gone. Apart from browny, who else in on huge bucks??? We have plenty of room in the cap. Dont be fooled.

Gaspar won't be on minimum wage. We will have to pay Rodan's salary. Go back through this years news articles, we've resigned a lot of players this year and apart from Gaspar I would say they've all gone up. I think we're still well under the cap, but as has been pointed out elsewhere, it's not the cap that's important, it's our budget.

Maybe not minimum wage but he certainly wont be on the money he was on. No where near it. He's lucky to be playing at all!!!

But we may not have been budgeting for him to be there at all.

No one knows what the individual contracts are but I would be shocked if we weren't running budgets calculated over 2-3 years.

Even 'small' contracts like those for Hyde and Hartigan might be back-ended to the tune of $10k a year budgetting for Stafford to retire (for example).

When Stafford and Kellaway go it doesn't automatically mean we have an extra $300k to play with. Much of that money may have already been allocated for season 07.

Most interesting stamement Miller made is that we have an "abundance of inside players".

We have Cogs, Tuck, Foley, Polo, Hyde, Johno, maybe Hartigan and Kracks.

With almost all of them in the first 21, you suddenly have 8 out of 14 onballer type players playing a pseudo defensive role.

I get the feeling that the "run & carry" footabll TW wants to play may lend itself to players that can actually get their on ball, therefore Millers comments make alot of sense.

what trouble?

we say to moore, mcguane, hartigan, schulz etc stand up or pissoff

these guys need games and the quicker we know they are crap or good the better

hall and gaspar at key posts is laughable though
your posts are laughable, kPP take longer to develop you hardly ever get a KPP that is a gun in there 2nd or 3rd year and none oif them have been on our list any longer:rolleyes:

Word in Perth on the radio this morning is Polak is almost certain to become a tiger today.

My question is how? and it better not be our first pick

Why else would that waste royal's time and the clubs money sending him over there??? I have a feeling you're right PRR.

To assess him personally, just like we do with the kids at draft camp. We may have agreed terms with him as some rumours suggest, but I imagine as part of our own due diligence we would want to check him out face to face first, ensure he is committed to reaching his potential, staying out of trouble, etc etc

You'd think this would have been done a while ago.

I fail to see why a six-hour round trip is needed to get a signature. if anyone needs to go over there to talk to him it should be Miller.
As far as signatures go, then a courier pigeon would be just as effective.

We need Miller in Melbourne. As he is the one in charge hence why he will be at Telstra dome during this trade time. Thats why Royal has gone to perth.
