Time to start heating up the bed of hot coals?

IMO, they have rewarded 2 leaders for their great form - AA/Squad (Betts & Lynch) & relegated 2 who had a poor year (Jacobs & Douglas)... which is a good thing. Sends the right message that if you are struggling with your own form, perhaps you should make that a higher priority than leadership issues.
What the problem with 4 other players other than Tex & Sloaney having leadership responsibilities?
ie. What is the downside?
I agree when half of the team is called a leader, it's ridiculous as looses it's importance, but what is wrong with 6 players in total.
Being a captain takes up more time than it used to, so if some of that load can be spread across capable leaders, surely that is better for Tex?
Jacobs hopefully no longer is a guaranteed starter
Last year we didn't have a formal appointment for a vice captain. There was a perception that Sloany was VC but no we didn't have a vice captain in 2016
The apparrent downfall of Sam Jacobs is a sad thing to see. Hopefully he turns his form around in season 2017.
OMG. What is going on
No Sloane was in the leadership Group But the Crow did not have VC, Re Quote from the Club.
"Sloane, 26, has been elevated to the position of vice-captain. The two-time Crows Club Champion, who has been a member of the leadership group for the past five years and was an acting co-captain in 2014, was recognised as vice-captain of the All Australian team last season."
Crows haven't had a VC for years. Just senior members of the leadership group.
Sloane well & truly deserved VC after being acting captain enough & arguably as good as leader as Tex.
Your Old Fashion
Its Size of the Squad, there are 45 players, a six-man leadership group is about right,
The workload for Captains has increased off-field compare the Old days so a Litle help goes a long way.
Training groups have become more departmentalize and the Capt or VC cannot cover all the areas.
Leadership groups also feedback info to the Coaches So you want some that the team can communicate with.
Finally, we need to remember Old school Had Capt and VC sometimes 2 VC for one team of 22 players. Now we are talking Squads of 45 a leadership group of 6 would comparable to Most SANFL teams when you add their reserves.
No a 6 man team with maybe (big maybe)1 more added for SANFL purposes is about right for 45.
Reckon it was a coaches call to elevate him to VC But yes well deserved.
