We probably won't beat Villa away anyways as they will play fill strength in an attempt to win a trophy. Whereas we will go in with the kids again. Away from home. We will probably get knocked out.

So Liverpool to play the quarter final the day before world club cup match.

Two different squads.

Will be interesting to see if they play an A and a B squad, or mix it up.

Surprised they couldn't find a better solution, it's not like it's a surprise that Liverpool would be away in December.

I reckon best 18 players will go to the club world cup, complete reserves side vs Villa.

If everyone is fit, this could be the side. (Not including Clyne and Glatzel who have ACL injuries)

Jones-Brewster-Elliott
Kane-Lallana-Shaqiri
Larouci-VDB-Hoever-Williams
Kelleher

Subs: Lonergan, Koumetio, Lewis, Chirivella, Christie-Davies, Clarkson, Longstaff

That's just bizarre. Should have been postponed until Jan 6. Move the first leg of the subsequent semi to the same date as the 2nd leg of the other semi and play the 2nd leg sometime midweek in Feb.

Interesting to see which teams play. The League Cup game will be the more difficult of the two fixtures. Suspect the teams will be mixed up somewhat.

You'd prefer to take the League Cup seriously because honestly who cares about the world club cup except for probably UEFA if Liverpool didn't take it seriously.

Most likely we will be playing the champions of CONCACAF in our CWC semi. Gashssen leads the line for them so we may get away with sending a youthful defence.

I'd rather go after the World Club Cup personally, it's a lot harder to qualify for that one so chances to win it are harder to come by.

Plus I don't think we've won it before either.

Save the first team from flying out to Qatar imo. Play the kids in the CWC.
Listening to Klopp’s comments, sounds like we’ll do the opposite. Kids will play in the League Cup, senior squad over to Qatar. Just a ridiculous situation.

Really surprised Liverpool went all out against us last week. Would have thought Klopp might have told them to take it easy or mess up on pens. I get why they didn't, but it's still surprising.

Plus im not sure you can tell players to go easy, once they are on the pitch they'll want to win. Its what they do.

As SM said they fielded a weaker side but even that was good enough too beat a struggling Arsenal.
