Can someone explain who is considering and why? Or is it all just a talk up? I heard that gasnier and minichello are thinking of going?

Contract boosting. It happens every year and player managers will see that it continues to happen.

Besides, the only way Union can get itself some media coverage these days is through League.

It just can't seem to keep up with the big boys.

Must've missed the Rugby 7's or Wallabies tours or the Super 14. I see plenty of stuff on the Brumbies in Canberra tv and plenty on the Waratahs in the Sydney news we get.

Obviously he was being sarcastic

Whenever a high profile league player is offered a free pass into the Wallabies, it's one of the few chances that they'll get front/back page news over league.

Wendell Sailor, after he achieved all there was to achieve in the game of Rugby League, claimed the lure of the international stage is what most attracted him. It's also the line Andrew Johns was taking before the ARU decided to throw out his offer.

It's also natural player managers will overly drum up the interest shown by other codes in order to get their clubs to cough up more money.

It's the best spin to put on justifying a decision to switch... but its unlikely to outweigh the extra $$$$$ as the real underlying motivation for switching, or even considering switching.

exactly. it will happen every year.
