Hope surgery goes well and best of luck in recovery. Eagles have first class facilities/resources so it should be no problems in the long run.

The team will get by without him. Plenty of young guys looking for opportunity.

**** off, ****ing injuries, ****ing **** ACL

He is such a class player and is so so important to our side with his ability to either be a crumber or lead up forward AND he was going to be a midfielder this year! Devostated :(

Devastated to hear Lecca is out for the year, he is one my favourite players going round at the moment. Hope his recovery goes smoothly. :thumbsu:

Cox may never have been unearthed so effectively and most likely been traded to Saints if Gardy (our second best player) did not do his knee.

I know its simplistic analogy but shows that there is a silver lining. We have enough flankers that one can take a chance. Also makes us less Lecca orientated, which we were at times even with Kennedy and Darling firing.

Also good that he did it early in year so he will be perfect to go next preseason.

Unfortunate for Lecca. Wish him a speedy recovery. Will be interesting to see who steps up in his stead. Andrew Strijk was impressive in 2010 when given an opportunity, hopefully he can get given a chance to replicate his previous good work.

Nicoski or Darling could possibly move up to a HFF and allow Newman to play as a FP.

Hill??? Has it all to prove. Given that I believe WC could possibly still be a side about as good as the Bulldogs were in 2009, in this coming year, in spite of Lecca's injury, if Hill can replicate his form of that year, it would at least provide a moderate level of cover.

Unless someone surprises and takes the bull by the horns, I expect numerous options to get given a chance in Lecca's absence. In a way, that's a good thing, for it will establish a new pecking order amongst those on the fringe and outside WC's best 22. It may also uncover a player who steps up and proves himself best 21, even with the return of Lecca next year. So, despite the obvious level of loss to the team that Lecca is, something unexpectedly good may come from this unfortunate occurrence.

Whoever gets an opportunity from Lecca's injury, who otherwise wouldn't have, isn't likely to match Lecca's offensive output. Let's hope they make up for that by being stronger than Lecca defensively, and could thus create goals for themselves or teammates in that way.

my first thought and even same example (cox/gardi)!

between darling/kennedy/nicoski goals we have the firepower to still function week by week and hopefully that allows someone else to get in there

Sad news. I am a big-time hater of all things Eagles but, after last season, know how this feels to supporters.

Hope he recovers okay and is up and firing in 2013.

He's close if not undoubtedly our best player.

However I'm finding it easier to accept LeCras being unavailable in 2012 then say a Judd/Cousins or Kerr going down in previous years.

I'm not entirely sure why, but obviously our team has a much more even spread of talent and we have some good players at 23-28th in line that will now get a chance.

It's a silver lining on an otherwise dark cloud but I'm coping with it.

He's easily top 3. And he was on a curve to be clearly #1 by the end of this year.

He's a massive loss, yes it gives opportunities to others, but they are inferior players. We don't have many absolute A graders. This hurts us, bad.
