Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

Would of loved to see Ameobi get a run... but good win none the less.

Interesting decision next week RE. selection. Does Clapham earn a spot back? Which of the two loan strikers gets the gig on the reserves bench when Beckford and Tres both return.

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

The most impressive thing about the Leeds season so far, is that they have played most of the top teams and beaten them rather comfortably. They play Yeovil this weekend, then league leaders Leyton Orient the following weekend, leaving only Carlisle in the top 8 they are yet to face.
Hopefully by Round 14, Leeds form bubble will have popped, and the trip up to Brunton Park will be a nightmare.:p

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

And despite what you may think, the club someone plays for has never influenced my opinion on whether they should be sent off or not.

Bullshit.

Certainly unlike some who will defend their club, manager and players on every occasion.

Like Ben Thatcher's gutless elbow on Mendes a few seasons back and you defending the act?

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

Bullshit.

No bullshit. You'll find that I've criticised many clubs (and even my own) when people act in a manner that I don't find acceptable. Whether it's Leeds (who don't even register on my three most disliked clubs), or anyone else I call it as I see it. Some supporters react to criticism differently to others, but I can't help that now can I.

When did I defend it? At the time I thought it was a late tackle but not a lot in it, but I said I would wait and see the replay. Once I saw the replay I came on here and said that it was a bad challenge that deserved a straight red. From memory while I criticised the FA to changing rules they had steadfastly refused to change int he past I also said that the rules should allow more flexibility to issue more appropriate punishments in situations like Thatchers.

Then again, I remember you defending Woodgate and Bowyer to the hilt, until they left the club and suddenly they were racist thugs.

Wise on an FA charge btw, for telling the ref to f**k off after the game last week.

Looking forward to hearing from Leeds fans who have commented that type of language and behaviour is inappropriate.

only after the ref telling him to do so...il reserve judgement until i see the refs punishment, which will no doubt be **** all
and btw..was good to see the ref ruin another match midweek, this time ruining the swanea vs swindon match..how he continually gets a gig is beyond me

Both deserved to be punished... not something anyone wants to see out there.

However, dont think the ref can swear at a manager then when sworn back at report it. Seems as if Leeds reacted to his unprofessional, pathetic performance.

Anyone who thinks that guy should still be getting a gig is clearly just coming on here laying into Leeds whenever possible.

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

Our Portuguese signing Filipe da Costa has finally been cleared to play by the FA and is in the squad for tonight.

I wonder how many manager of the month awards Wisey can string together! :p

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

2 late late goals in a couple of days' time, can't beat that champions' luck :):thumbsu:

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

Late winners are starting to become a habit for us. :)

Moving close to the playoff positions now, come on LEEDS!

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

We are through to the next round of the prestigious Johnstone's Paint Trophy :p, with a 1-0 win over Darlington. Huntington scored with a header in the 48th minute.

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

good win..only good thing about this tournament would be the potential of the final at wembley..having 60-70,000 leeds fans there

for any leeds fans on here, am getting a 'legitimate' copy of the game sent over...
assuming it works will be happy to post out other legitimate copies to fellow fans..
pm if interested

Amended, noone gives a toss about the JP Trophy, everyone would play reserves if they were legally allowed

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

Good effort posting after we won. Didn't think i'd see the day. :thumbsu:

They rarely show cover third division teams on the TV or newspaper, so I rarely have anything to say about their games.
