Bad luck boys but to be brutally honest, you played pretty poorly and didnt do enough to win im afraid

Still gutted. Agree with the post above, only saw from about 60min in, but from that point at least we never even looked close to scoring.

Wonder what changes will be made to the squad for next year? I know we have signed a Swansea mid Andy Robinson, and Rui has been re-signed.

Expect to lose plenty of our Championship class players. Beckford, Kandol, Michalik, Hughes, Prutton, Marques and Ankergren will be tough to keep. They all probably have get out clauses in their contracts if we're not promoted.

I couldn't fault their effort at all, but we had absolutely nothing going forward, just plenty of ring-a-rosie passing with no final product. Doncaster defended well but we were clueless in attack.

As for the defending at the corner which led to the goal... the less said about that the better.

It was a disappointing end to a very good season, against all odds. I can see much of the squad staying intact and the addition of Andy Robinson already makes us a better side. We'll have a full pre-season this time without any worries on the clubs' future, ensuring Gary Mac can thoroughly plan a title assault. There is no reason why we can't go up as Champions next season.

Official website says Marques has just signed a two year deal so we won't be losing him at least.

As for Kandol, his form seems to have dropped right off anyway, was previously playing in league 2 IIRC so not sure he would be such a big loss.

I forgot that this year we weren't allowed to sign players before right near the start of the season, so we should be much better prepared and have more depth next time around. Barring another crisis (being Leeds there's a great chance of that) we really should go up automatically.

Arrived home middle of the arvo today
WOW what a weekend, a trip with so many ups and downs, is what being a leeds fan is all about.An awesome night out with a few aussies from my hotel on saturday, followed up the next day, hitting the pubs early on, green man was chockers from about 11am, nicked off elsewhere for better queues.
The singing on the streets, the walk up wembley way, just amazing experience.
Had awesome seats and the atmosphere was something il never ever forget, 50,000 leeds fans singing MOT all at once is something you never forget, shivers up the spine and all that, amazing feeling to be apart of.
Fans were dead quiet the 10 minutes following their goal, but apart from that were brilliant, so proud to be leeds
the result, well lets be honest was devistating, the final third was poor, i love prutts but he was all at sea out left, continually cut inside and left johnson isolated.
To be honest i thought johnson was one of our best, considering how isolated he was, he handled it well and was the one of the few to give us something going forward, glad we've signed robinson as width is clearly an issue.
In the last twenty, their was almost a resignation amongst the fans it wasnt going to be our day, still sung their hearts out full credit to em.
Full credit to donny though, better side won on the day, bigger pitch certainly helped their smooth passing game and they were on..played as good as they did 9 days previously in their 5-1 mauling of southend.
The walk back was devistating, yet so proud, at wembley central station, thousands of leeds fans on the platforms singing their hearts out.
Flight then got delayed 5 hours at heathrow meaning i missed my connection, but oh well
Spoke to a bloke on the train afterwards, told me id now been iniated as a leeds fan, to experience a loss in a final (something we've done so many times) first hand is all about being a leeds fan, all about the ups and downs
got some pics and vids, although alot gone due to my SD card being damaged on the way home (____ing hong kong security), will post later

Hoping we get Huckerby, this rumour doing the rounds pre game, and we need a left back, to allow johnson to play on a wing
Despite the cost, the devistating defeat, the flight delays, id do it again in a second, so proud to be leeds, what real support is all about

Great post and great attitude to have. Bad luck about the result but I think we all know you will finish first next year and be promoted in a canter. Still a year extra will be tough for all of you to endure and a year of joy for moomba and the likes

Wow, top post drewie, don't know when it will happen but some day I will get over there and go to a game (got plenty of time, I'm only 16). The thought of being there in a stadium packed full of Leeds fans sounds incredible. Looking forward to seeing the pics.

so only found out today, my dad actually recorded the game on fox..so i put myself through the pain and watched it
Im glad the noise came through on the TV as it was at the ground..so bloody loud, amazing experience having 3/4 of the stadium singing marching on together at the same time..some absoloutely great chants came through loud and clear..
one thing that stood out from watching the replay, was just how much we struggled with tracking runs from midfield, time after time donny midfielders got to the byline with ease..

anyway, cant believe i watched it..but the support sounded as amazing on tv as it sounded at the ground...would love to experience another day like it in the rest of my life..hopefully with a better result

Luciano set to sign with leeds today, and theres talk dougie freedman will sign permanently following his testamonial with palace which is tonight
Both would be fantastic signings

Curtis Weston on trial at Hibs, would expect to see Kandol, Weston, Westlake and Sorsa all be moved on before the season starts. Probably even Carole and Sweeney also

Hmm, from what I've read I thought Freedman wasn't coming back. We have signed a fair few strikers anyway: Showunmi, Luciano and the new catchiest name in the squad Snodgrass.

Apparently the big Showunmi is absolutely terrible, tall big bodied striker who cant even win a header!

Others sound alot more promising!
