Movie Left-Wing Agenda in Cinema/TV

The concept of "liberals" is fascinating and intrigues me. When I see the word I think about the liberal party. But more and more, due to the internet, we are adopting language and terms that the americans use. Which suggests left of centre. haha.

Anyway, if we are in the age of leftist cinema, what is/was the rightist age? And what examples of righty movies are there?

Anytime it involved white males apparently :p

Isn't that a comics issue more than a gender issue? ie. she was pushed as being super awesome coz of her powers, not coz she was a chick.

Character doesn't do anything for me either, by the way. Cookie cutter superman derivative.

It was because of her powers, but they went for a character that they can say "she's the most powerful".

So the character hasn't been picked because it brings anything great to the story line, they just picked her because she can all of a sudden claim i'm more powerful than all your beloved male characters.

If they'd built Scarlet Witch up to her most kick arse proportions she'd beat Thanos. But for some reason they've always nerfed her powers despite being far more interesting.

Our "liberal" history goes back to Europe. So was around independent of the US.

Right wing movie.

Thats what I mean though - she's the most powerful from the comics, so it would be kinda odd if they never gave her a movie/presence. I think you'd have more of a point if they brought her in and she totally usurped all the others, but that didn't happen - Cap and Iron Man were still clearly the main focus.

Just seems to me it was a (questionable) creative decision rather than a gender-driven one - as you rightly note, if all they wanted to do was have a chick be the most powerful you can do that with Scarlett Witch.

They definitely just went for the most tacky option to throw into the universe to push this girl power angle.

It wasn't about introducing an awesome character, just something they could market the merch for.

Christ, she didn't even do that much in the film. You'd think she just swanned in, saved everyone in a single go, then kicked Thanos's head off his shoulders. She did no more or less than all the other supporting heroes outside of finding Tony.

It would've been more tacky to have a distractingly goodlooking woman replace Iron Man and Captain America SPOILERS as the lead character in the Marvel film franchise.

James Bond is white, it would be some moronic writing to flip him to a black man. Only morons would embrace such a change.

Having the 007 agent spot open up due to James Bond retiring is how to introduce a black agent of course. Why you'd want to do that though I have no idea. The whole concept is about James Bond.

I see....so it was OK for him to be played by Roger Moore as a fifty year old but we can't possibly disturb the integrity of the sacred texts by having him played by a black man!

Also how disgusting they cast Daniel Craig to play Bond when the books all say he had black hair.

While we are at it - how dare they cast Sean Connery in the role because everyone knows his mother is not Swiss.

I am still mad at them casting a women as M - we all know in the books he was a male as God intended: "Only morons would embrace such a change."

What is the relationship between the books and the movies now - NONE

Your argument is bullshit

Bostonian thinks his Irish predecessors are some of the biggest victims in history due to their treatment by the British but has very little sympathy for Aboriginal Australians which says much about his true beliefs on race and racism.

You mean like swanning in and destroying a massive warship in 3 seconds while everyone else is in deep s**t and things are looking dire leaving Thanos looking completely dejected and leading to the lamest scene in the movie?

You have no argument.

James Bond is a white man. 007 is his assigned agent number.

M wasn't a person, it was a position.

So there's a fail for you there and an example of you having no idea what you're talking about.

From Casino Royale to Octopussy he was described as a handsome but cruel looking man with black hair that looked like Hoagy Carmichael. There has been a departure from the way the books described him from Moore on. It did more to damage the integrity of the story to have Roger Moore pooncing around in his 50s than to have Idris as Bond. I hate to break it to you but James Bond is a fictional character and the books have been exhausted - so play on

I rewatched the battle scene, because i like it, again. When she comes in i thought to myself, ya know what Peter, she should just smash thanos into pieces. When they fought she was toying with him, smirking even. Then when
Thanos grabbed the stone and put it in his clenched fist, she realised oh s**t and was punched very hard
. OK then. But you supposed to be the most powerful!

I guess for me personally in the end i didnt much like her movie, but does it cause outrage in me? No.

James Bond is a fictitious white man.

There is literally zero reason to change that fact.

Cultural Marxists must be right dim *******s if that's all the creativity they can come up with.

Two things.

Superhero movies have little resemblance to the real world. They rely on characters having supernatural powers that fluctuate hugely in power in order to create dramatic tension.

Recently we have recently seen movies depict tiny female characters destroying large male characters. Which is clearly unrealistic.

Combine the two and we see supernatural female kickass characters.

So it's interesting watching this cultural shift through the eyes of a pre-pubescent boy (my son). He loves all of the Superhero characters - male or female. Black or white. Straight or gay. In other words, he doesn't care what they are - he cares that the character is kick-arse. I know a sample of one means jack but if that's the result of the this so-called agenda, then can someone explain why that's bad?

Seems to me people are jumping at shadows.

Mine too. Doesn't think or care about colour, gender etc. Perhaps one day the kids of today will as they get older.

using kittle kids in this debate is disingenuous. kids dont care and havent the capacity to ponder beyond the superficial. this is an adult topic.

You undersell kids. My son very much understands the concepts of race, gender, sexuality. Point is he thinks there's no reason why you should discriminate on that basis and for him, it's perfectly natural to see a black, lesbian Superhero (is there one?) as a kick arse character because all sorts of people are being portrayed as kick-arse superheroes.

I go back to my point - what's the issue because I'm failing to see it.

kids can have opinions and thats fine, some of them precocious. but generally theyre opinions are still very nascent, theyre still in their formative years of thought, beliefs, understandings, experiences. why is it that only adults have an issue with this? because its a broad meaty topic and adults can analyze and incorporate other aspects of life as analogies.

anyway, the issue is not the diversity per se. its the re-booting of movies/etc with agendas of identity politics and sexual preferences and other SJW elements, and the meta or fourth wall of their scripts....instead of focusing on writing solid stories, or, creating new IPs to fill with diverse characters and then theres no problem.

also, the general thing now thats going way out of control of people getting offended bu everything. theres no fun left. look at the recent DSA conventions for where all this is going.

What is the right wing agenda in movies these days?
