Meh, nothing compared to the video game industry I reckon. Thats legit out of control.
That's because the left didn't hold the majority of power there.
Added the fan base was already well established and organised so the push back is more forceful.
Ya reckon? I'd say the vast majority of game industry is incredibly left leaning, the media who cover it certainly so.

Someone like Marvel Creator Stan Lee was all about diversity and creating stories about outsiders and people who don't belong in accepted society.
Also there hasn't been a decent X-Men movie for years, couldn't hurt to mix up a rapidly stale formula a bit.

It's amazing how some of the most strident 'fans' of certain properties fail to grasp the underlying meanings that have been there from the beginning. X-Men in particular is explicitly about minority groups and the fear and hatred they attract from others.

The whole imaginary Marvel/X-Men trope of the friction between humans and super-humans is a conflation of a genuine threat to mankind because of creatures that have higher powers - and a fear of people who have a different colour skin.
People who think it's politically motivated are a bit naive, it's all about marketing and money
1. Disney movies are aimed at the younger audience, and is also appealing to a global base over many major countries. Including people of all kinds of race and color would be easy marketing to the young people and also globally
2. Casting main actors as someone other than white is also easy shock marketing, it gets people talking about the movie without them even having to spend a dime. Easy advertising
Their strategy just happens to not be in line with the so-called right wing's older demographic and white audience, it is purely coincidental and not purposefully political. Disney's doing the thing that appeals to the most people and makes them the most money, which happens to be a more inclusive rhetoric (which surprise surprise, a lot of people like)

Id actually watch that Crocodile Dundee movie. Making him asian actually doesnt detract at all as long as he's got the bogan accent.So the idea to mix it up is just to... blackwash the character? Nothing wrong with diversity, create new characters instead of appropriating existing ones.
Perhaps if they create a new Crocodile Dundee film they should cast an Asian with a thick Chinese accent as Mick, for you know... diversity.
The Little Mermaid thing is insanely dumb.... its a pretend creature. If the tail of a rainbow salmon is used instead of an Atlantic salmon will the fisherman and sea life enthusiast lo by go nuts? So who cares if the top half is white, black, green or purple?
Diversity only applies to caucasian western cultures.
You can have a Bollywood film full of only Indians, Chinese films with only Chinese, Japanese films with only Japanese.

Magneto's backstory (and supremacist tendencies) means he should probably stay white. Xavier is fair game though, might as well be any ethnicity if it fits, and he obviously won't be paying lip service to his race.

Magneto’s supremacist tendencies come from being a persecuted minority who has experienced mankind’s worst behaviours. Reckon he’d suit a minority. If they want to keep the character present, they have to update his back story because the Holocaust was 80 years ago. It’s a fundamental change but the only alternative is to set all the stories in the past.

Making up some new rubbish background story is pointless.
A crappy explosion made CM the most powerful character in the MCU. Not too hard to have a crappy explosion to give Magneto some life reversing/prolonging powers.

Monkey was written by Asian writers for Asian actors. Which is why it rocked.
I wouldn't watch it because it would be absolute turd.

Blaming something akin to a left wing conspiracy - what else could big multinational tax minimising etc corporations being "left wing" for the sake of "left wing" be? - makes sense for Bostonian as he fundamentally won't accept Earth's population and who has the money to buy movie tickets and accompanying stupid merchandise has expanded since 1990 or whatever year it started going downhill in his head.
Bostonian really believes in race (and gender roles). He rejects the idea different ethnicities can get along on anything more than a superficial, wave-to-my-neighbours level. So he has to resist lame big budget movies that suggest otherwise.
