Channel 7 just reported that Fisher has been flown up to Sydney for a medical, Schnider for Fisher has now been thrown up instead of the saint's passing on their 2nd rounder. More will unfold tomorrow.

I'd be happy enough for a straight swap :thumbsu:

Leigh is a toiler, with plenty of heart and a hard attack on the ball. Could be another Teddy Richards - sometimes brilliant, sometimes a real struggler. I'll give him a chance in red and white. But bringing anyone with chronic injuries from an injury plagued team like the Saints is a real worry.

Interesting that Roos sees our backline as needing a bit of a tune up - but I guess we did get spanked a few times by some of the larger forward lines this year - notably by Collingwood.

Lets just hope Mattner can give us a lot of run, because we're really going to miss what Schneider could provide at his best.

He had the two horriffic hamstring injuries, but has really built himself up and hasn't had any problem over the past two years.

He doesn't have huge natural talent, but his attack on the ball, his contested marking and his decision-making under pressure are all first class. Has generally neat skills, good fitness and while he doesn't have pace, he can still break the lines by running to the right places and fending off opposition tackles.

You know, I've always had my doubts about the Swans' recruiting. I like the theories and thought that they'd been average at best at putting them into practice.

If that ****ing crock of a deal goes through, that's it. I will never, ever have faith in this footy department having a clue about football again.

Schneider for Fisher? Or worse, SCHNEIDER FOR PICK 25?

I had a good day today. Then I come home to this.

Going a little far IMO, we could trade Goodes and i'd still be a Swans supporter! I just wouldn't watch any games next year:)

You don't understand why people are getting upset?

It's very hard not to get sentimental when this is a guy who played a very important role in winning our first premiership in 72 years.

I'll get over it eventually but it's upsetting for me because this is the first player i've seen traded that i really love.. seeing him running around in different colours next year will be tough.

and of those 72 years youve supported how many?

look football is a business now, people cannot afford to get attached to players such as schnieder who are and will continue to be trade bait. hes not a superstar, hes servicable and that makes him somewhat valuable but not indespensible.

Schneider is a run & carry player, which is exactly what we need.
Fisher is a BP/tagger which is exactly what we DON'T need.

I've been supporting the Swans about 3/4 of my life, not that that has anything to do it this.

The fact is people DO get attached to players. It's human nature to have a bond with someone that you watch 22+ weeks a year and that you are constantly reading and writing about. The Swans are a massive part of my life and yes no matter what happens i will always support them.. but right now i'm allowed to be upset about losing a player that i do care about.

I don't see why you have a problem with people caring about players.

I must admit, I can't work out how the Swans benefit from this.

I would have thought pick #26 + a Gwilt type would have been a fairer deal, giving you a decent draft pick and a key backman.

But hey, I'm happy to let Roosey and Rossy work things out ...

I agree. Your right on the money. Lets add this F**K Up to ther other pile of recruiting brilliance. Lets start with the Daniher brothers we let them go for nothing, as to the Morwood brothers, Wayne Carey no we didn't want him he is a terrible footballer so we let North have him, same for James Hird, John Longmire, should I continue.:mad::mad::mad:

Fisher is a bum, and nothing more, he will not fill the role Roosey thinks he will. Ask yourself this if he was any good why would St Kilda let him go when they are chasing a premiership within the face of 3 years. It defies logic.

When will we ever learn????????????
