I saw those repeats of Green Acres on TV as a kid, farms can wear thin in no time.

As someone who spent school holidays on farms I can confirm this. The country is nice to visit but it's very quiet if you're used to the city. You have to like solitude.

One of the few highlights of the GF replay, Collingwood were running amok and then Lenny laid down the law, just a pity no one else followed him.

As someone who spent school holidays on farms I can confirm this. The country is nice to visit but it's very quiet if you're used to the city. You have to like solitude.

My neighbour here got a pet sheep for his kids.
He didn't say anything before he got it, and the wire fence that i'd upgraded at my cost to keep our Cavalier terrier in at the time, probably wasn't up to livestock duty. Anyway, my German Shepard got in to the sheep , i found it half under a wooden fence, there was blood on its head and it seemed lifeless. I told the guy. He wasn't happy.
Next morning i went to take it away, the thing was still alive, when i got its head out from under the fence it ran around baaaing, So off to the vet , on a drip for a day , antibiotics $500.00

Its head had shallow wounds where my dog had knawed at it, and i had to go next door every couple of days to inject it with antibiotics, and i'd bought "rid" and given it to the neighbour to spray every day.

A week or so later the neighbours were on holiday and the woman who was checking in on the place told me it was badly flyblown.
So every day that week me and her were getting the maggots off it.

It healed though and seemed fine.

A month or so later there are different sheep in there but not this one. Someone else was paying him to keep sheep there.
I asked the neighbour , "what happened to "dave" " oh we got rid of him"

Hate farming. Hate sheep. Hate neighbours.
