Robert Shaw was on the radio tonight and told the listeners that Leon loves playing on Harbrow as his defensive pressure isnt too good

Has kicked 6 goals on him in two games

Your not worth 800K Harbrow and we shouldnt pay that for him, not after having your ass kicked by a player who has struggled most of the year

You've started a thread to bag a player who gives 100% every minute of the game? Yeah he lowered his colours on the night but ended up playing a pretty good second half. Wish we had more like him. Who else would you have played on Davis Fred?

i agree with your comments mostly mate, but yr missing the point.... The fact is, you can count out the last quarter as the damage was already done.. Davis is at best a mediocre performer, who shits himlsef on the big stage in finals, so harbrow should have his measure in my opinion.. the fact is, Davis did the damage early on harbrow due to harbrows insipid performance, lack of accountability and leaking soft , soft goals and letting davis influence the game etc. Dont excuse harbrow as he let us down big time when it counted tonite.. Davis is out of form, and there is no excuse....

lets be honest, Leon didn't have to work hard for all of them. He gets the ball, drops it with no correct disposal as the tackle comes and then gets a free for holding the man.

Seriously take that out, the Luke Ball 50m that got a goal and that Hudson report and we win the game (we probably still would have lost but just making note).

We didn't lose because of umpiring, it is obvious that we lost because we played 15 minutes of football.

Thats Hudson report though will be thrown out quicker then any report in the history of the game.

Who has suggested Harbrow is worth $800K?

Davis is a knobend and a frontrunner. If the Pies win the flag this year it won't be because of him

Crap thread.

Mate the Gold Goast will easily pay 800k for him as the rumour mill is stating

You are missing the point is he worth that kind of money ???

My gf who doesn't even follow actually asked me how come davis is allowed to drop the ball when his tackled everytime, I though your not allowed to do that.

After she said that i watched closely and he seriously does instantly drop the ball when a finger is laid on him. There was even one play when BT got a hardon after david clearly through the ball to wellingham? and the pie's got a snap goal. It was clear as day as his left arm wasn't even near him and it got overlooked. He also got a free for being slung which was fair enough but in the last quarter with about a min to go Grant got slung in the similiar manner and nothing. So frustrating it was watching. The umps were just as bad as we were.

I clicked in here because I was 100% sure the next word after the thread title was going to be "himself" !

The guy is in the top 5 most over-rated players in the league, and I would have Harbrow any day of the week over that cat. Seriously, he was abysmal against Geelong (and most other teams this year), had last week off with an "injury" and then he comes up with this ....

No Leon, you are not "number one". Don't carry on like you are.

Good luck for the rest of the season to you lot. I'm not the only opposition supporter that wants to see the Dogs do well.

Robert Shaw clearly talking "tongue in cheek" because of Davis' last couple of games vs the Dogs/Harbrow.

However, as for this post, surely this is the only "delusional" Dogs supporter from the game tonight?

Granted you guys came home strongly (has always been the case the last couple of times and has stuck to the script when our sides have met of late), we were clearly the better side for 75% of that game and probably should have won it by plenty but nonetheless it was a spirited fight back and another cracker of a finish in the end.

Leon "didn't work hard for them" is a cop out too. Was the best small forward on the ground. Kicked 3 goals, had 4 assists and should have had a couple more if not for his teammates spraying simple set shots directly in front too. Was a class above and his disposal was top notch, especially if you compared it to Harbrow's who I thought butchered it a few times tonight. He is a wonderful player though and would love to him so he will bounce back.

Also, if you want to remove all of the above you mentioned, you might want to look at the 50m penalty paid against Fraser for going "over the mark" (very dubious), the double 50m penalty that resulted in another goal, the clear "holding the ball" vs Cross in the 3rd term (granted we kicked a goal from that stoppage) but nonetheless was undisputedly holding the ball. It went both ways.

Good game and good luck for the rest of season 2010. I still expect the Dogs to be high up the ladder challenging at season's end though once it all clicks.

Davis is a decent player but something needs to be done about players who take the ball in one hand outstreched.

If tackled the ball will drop and the opponent will be holding the man. Yet what is the correct decision? For me its dropping the ball.

Also if the ball is in one hand you cant throw it up to yourself or a team mate.

What Davis does is cheating yet its up the the umpires to get it right.

Not the first or the last player to do it yet doesn't make him some superstar!

You are a deadshit fred.

Stick to bagging Addison you clown.

Now you get Personal PIG(just shortening your name your welcome to call me fred) if you want

Answer my question all excluding the PIG would you pay 800K for a player that Leon Davis kicks 6 goals on in two games

Oh by the way PIG havent bagged Dyaln in recent times, 90% of the board has

Excluding you who thinks he can play football but that says it all dosent it :)

Im pretty happy with harbrows progress in general.

So am I stef but lets face it our salary cap is going to be tight with trying to re sign the likes of Griff to name a few.

I might be a bit off the money but I think Harbrow would be wanting more money or maybe more then Coon,Ward,Higgins, and far more then most of our young players

Is he worth losing a few off them for him ?

Fair chance Harbrow could end up a better(and more consistent) player than those guys.

Thats a big call

Why, because he's not a high draft pick?

He is almost the best small defender in the league(he reminds me of Wanganeen). Griffens inconsistent, Higgins might end up being only as good as Gia and Ward is talented but unproven. Hopefully all these players can become stars(and I think they will) but in terms of performance so far in their careers, Harbrow has done as much as any of them and there's nothing to say he won't end up having a better career.

Point taken

I just hope Ablett goes to the Gold Goast
That might drop the money they are offering him so we might come up with something that is reasonable

It's a good point Chef. They are all three super young talented players. But the thing that separates Harbrow from a lot of other players is the role he plays and how quick he is. We don't have a lot of quick players in our side, so the quick running quarterback role he provides is invaluable.Because he is quick he can break the lines, which is a great weapon against zoning, because he can get the ball through or over the zone area. Sometimes when comparing players, it is not only how good they are, but what value they give the team.

That is the problem with the two new teams coming in. They are offering players way over what is reasonable in terms of salary. So for clubs to keep their players, they have to pay more than they are worth, which causes headaches for the salary cap and list management.

I really want to keep Harbrow and all our young guns, but not at any cost. If the GC offer Harbrow a ridiculous sum, it is not feasible to match it. Fingers crossed he wants to stay with us though :)
