Trigg was on both 5AA and TV tonight commenting on our favourable draw. Gave it 8/10 but said we had one like it last year and look where we finished.

Both times he was asked whether Adelaide were interested in getting hold of Leon Davis. Each time his answer was the same in that we have the same problem as Collingwood as we don't have the room in our cap to pay him what he wants.

Pity really, because its not often we can pick up an AA player for nix in the PSD.

The Davis situation seems a little strange, he has walked out on Collingwood as a result of their insulting contract offer however IMO his options would be limited as Adelaide, WC and Freo would all have cap constraints

It is also said that he is willing to play in either the sanfl or wafl however he would not get $250k playing state league

With that said, I do believe he would accept a $250k per year offer and I also believe that he would be a very good pick up

In 2009 Davis was a HF AA and we do need a small forward and last year Davis showed that he is the best player in the AFL at combatting the forward press, how great would it be for Matty J to learn from Neon Leon on how to beat the forward press

Regarding Davis, if he was only 2 years younger, I would say he was worth a punt. His experience and skills would be very valuable to our squad. However, at 30 he is at risk of being another Carey for us. Good while he's on the park, but more often off it.

I would say yes to Leon Davis if we could get him relatively cheaply. Crows already have a very young squad and I'd have no issue recruiting an older player.

I have also always wondered how Hawthorn fot players under the CAP. Something is not right here. They keep bringing players into their mix with big salaries. I heard Gunston got substantially mor ethan here at Adelaide. Interstate teams should have 250k more in ther cap than VIC teams as we always have to pay over the odds to keep players from VIC here.
