You idiot. That means collingwood have only been around since 1991. PAFC played in a state leauge, as did collingwood. We got an AFL licence in 97, is it that hard to understand? If you can count your heritage from a state league, so can we. Don't give me the whole vfl went into afl thing. They were both state leagues at one stage. You can't say we don't have that heritage. Our heritage goes back to 1870. As a Power supporter, I think I would know more about it than you. I don't see why the black and white is an issue if we aren't playing you. At least some of your supporters are intelligent enough to agree.

P.iss off moron.

Collingwood started in the comp in 1897 and havent moved from it. It is the same comp.

PA were invited to join and nominated their colours. Their tradition is the teal jumper.

They can wear their prison bar (how appropriate) jumper in the SA(N)FL games where they have his so called tradition.

YOu PA fans are so moronic as displayed in your lack of grasp of basic history.

Hold on. It's NOT Ray's Tent City anymore!?!

Anyway, Port should be allowed to wear the stripes for heritage round because it is the Clubs HERITAGE!! It's not as though it would be a permanent change.
IN the SANFL not in the VFL/AFL.

Regardless of where PA came from - whether it was the SANFL or a soccer club in Kazakstan, the PA black and white jumper is part of their heritage and they should be allowed to wear it in heritage week when they are not playing against the CFC!

This has nothing to do with SANFL WAFL, VFL or AFL - PA football club has a heritage that includes a B & W jumper so why should CFC have some sort of divine right to B & W?

Let em wear it!!

No, you are the one that is making youself look like an idiot. Look what other fellow victorians are saying. We used to play in the sanfl, and yes... added a colour so that we could play. That doesn't mean black and white isn't part of our heritage! It doesn't matter what competition we came from... at the end of the day, it is our heritage. Deal with it.

I firmly believe that Port Adelaide should be able to wear their traditional (black and white) jumper for the heritage round. The only people who seem to complain about this are Collingwood people. What is the problem?
Does it really make any difference - I mean the jumpers are very different - is this just another thing where Eddie throws his weight around over nothing of any real importance?
And worst of all, don't think of starting a thread on our board.

Is it school holidays toina? Grow up. If you can't actually discuss this properly, don't post. Using such childish insults proves that you are by far the biggest "scum" on this thread.

Maybe Port Adelaide should have thought about this before they screwed us over with Nick Stevens. Funny, they wore the prison bars in 2003, screwed us by not letting Stevens come to Collingwood and now they will never wear them again

Suffer you whingeing fools, you want something then you should be prepared to give something in return

Interesting take on what happened with Nick Stevens. We didn't get anything from you, you didn't get Nick Stevens. How did we screw you?

On the jumper issue, Allan McAlister once said that Port would be entitled to wear the black and white jumper if we finished above you on the ladder. After it happened about four years in a row Choco asked Eddie McGuire on the Footy Show whether he was going to make good on the promise. LOL! You don't see Eddie on the back too often but we did right then and there. :)

You wore the black and white in 2003, so stop your bitching, you have had a chance to wear the jumper and since Williams decided to not deal with Collingwood, we wont let you wear the black and white again

You screwed us in the Stevens deal because Mark Williams was never going to deal with us, he wasnt worth Didak and a pick, hell he isnt even worth Didak, totally different players

A lot of Port people are annoyed that we gave up the right to wear the prison bars for three years but one huge positive is that we can point to our heritage being acknowledged through the fact that we wore it in 2003. That was special.

I'd like to ask people here, hoping for a serious response, what you think of this jumper which was Photoshopped by one of our people a couple of years ago before Brent Guerra moved to the Saints. This is much closer to our old strip while retaining the silver and teal.

A) If you saw our guys running around in this when playing other teams what would you think?

B) If we wore it against your side what would you think?

I don't have a problem with Port wearing the prison bars for the heritage round.

The only time I'd have a problem with it is obviously if we were playing them that day. Then it's an issue, it shouldn't be now.

A) Yeah, fine. It's actually a very good design.

B) Hmmm. Not sure as yet. I still think I wouldn't mind. At the end of the day it doesn't really matter as long as we, Collingwood, continue to wear the black and white stripes. That's something I am adamant about and that has nothing to do with the whole Port thing. That's a whole other kettle of fish, and stems from the whole alternate strip debate. I think MarkT is quite strong about this also?
