From what I've heard this is very possible what will happen and it might mean we lose him for only a 3rd round pick, if other clubs don't become involved. If we are going to lose him then I'd prefer it to be something like that than lose him via the PSD for nothing. I would hope that if we were losing him to the Saints we might try something where we offer Griffiths and our 3rd round pick for their second pick instead of going with just a 3rd round pick.Griff will be offered a good contract from the Saints. They have the cap space to overpay him early, he is exactly what they need and they can get him for nothing in the PSD, and can probably guarantee him game time in his preferred position.
In summary, Saints get Griffiths and 3 picks inside the top 45-50 of the draft and we get 3 picks inside the top 30 for losing a KPF we've put 5 years into. Everybody wins in that regard albeit reluctantly on our behalf.
