As we have seen with the inconsistencies of the MRP and the current gut punches thread as below, to me we are past the point of no return on the reporting of players.

Taking the consequences as part of the report itself and the force level included in the report as well has created some weird outcomes.

Time we kept it simple.

A strike is a strike, a kick is a kick and so on.

Report the action only..and penalise accordingly.

Yep, get rid of this insufficient force rubbish when a deliberate strike is involved. One week minimum. Includes the likes of Cotchin's jumper punch and gut punches. Bring it in mid-season - issue the directive now and enforce it after the bye.

This is the only way we'll ever see what might resemble some form of consistency from the MRP.

Yep. Sick of having stupid conversations about how hard the hit was and so on. How would you know unless you were the one who was punched. Just make them front up to the tribunal, give them a week minimum and it will stop.

THE AFL will tinker with its MRP system in coming weeks to ensure players guilty of punching an opponent face suspension — with changes to be implemented this season.

Tired of seeing players punching opponents and not being appropriately punished, AFL football operations boss Simon Lethlean said the league would take steps in coming days in a bid to rid itself of punching.

The actual administration of the AFL is as weak as piss and twice as yellow !!

The fact that they have to come out and say that they will have to tinker with the MRP in regards to this punching saga shows how inept and pathetic they have been for nigh on a decade.

FFS, if you whack a guy, regardless of whether it was a round-arm haymaker or a love-tap on the bottom, you have whacked him and therefore, you face the penalties accordingly.

And make them real penalties, not some mealy-mouthed PC crap either !!!

This trumped up farce has gone on too long !!!
