Disgraceful from the Boomers, they just rolled up and expected to win. Coaching staff thought they were infallible, who would've thought Serbia would put work into us after we pumped them. Still, if we can win the bronze it'll be an achievement and something to be proud of.

Which leads me to a question. I've always wondered in those team events whether you'd feel better winning bronze or 'losing' silver.

As for the BMXers, thats the nature of the sport sadly. Real shame.

I remember Duck being quoted after 98 that he would rather not make the GF if it meant losing one. I thought that a really strange comment. It's a loser mentality. Particularly in a sport where there is not an award for second.

See I get both sides of that. If you WIN a bronze medal you go out of the Games as a winner. Losing the Gold Medal game would be a hollow feeling for mine.

They said some other team knocked it out of their hands, so they were allowed to re-run their heat again, just all by themselves. They qualified that way.

Its because its the US. If that was a smaller nation who weren't a medal hope it would've been 'Oh thats hard luck guys'
