Gaz - at least he sired a son who is the greatest ever player and 2 time premiership player. And - check this out - senior - he won a norm smith medal. Now I know it's not the prestigious "Glendenning medal!" But what it is - it's what they give the best player on the ground in an afl grand final. Now Pav never got close to one due to the fact he was spineless, ineffective and weak in the GF he contested - so I get that you don't get what a norm smith is. Hope that helps you understand though that players who perform in big games are universally loved and respected way more than soft ***** who go to water in big games.

Mayne is the sort of player you bring in when your coach wants your side to make the finals this year so they dont get sacked.

They'd be way better off waving the 500k a year for 3 years in front of all members of the GWS NEAFL side who arent Sam Reid or Dawson Simpson and see who bites and demands a trade.
