RIP Ray Fosse. Was a former player for Oakland and then after retirement, joined the commentary booth as a colour commentator and held the role for 35 years (from 1986 to earlier this season). Very few people knew, but he had been fighting cancer for 16 years while maintaining his workload until August this year. Passed away yesterday from cancer. The Giants just commemorated his passing in the lead-up to the game against the Dodgers a few minutes ago.

Former first round draft pick, A.J. Puk, who featured in the 2022 season as a reliever, will be given the opportunity to earn a spot on the starting rotation for Oakland in 2023. Drafted by the A's as a starting pitcher, he transitioned to the bullpen during his time in Triple-A and has never started a MLB game. He pitched 66.1 innings in 62 appearances for the A's in 2022, with a 3.12 ERA, a 27.1% strike-out rate, and an 8.2% walk rate.

Miffed that the A's traded Murphy for such a poor return. Last major piece the A's had to improve the farm system and they've pulled in a haul of middling prospects. The Cardinals turned down the A's offer of Donovan and Nootbar in exchange for Murphy, so the A's pivoted back to their tried and true strategy of mid-tier prospects in exchange for a premium asset. Pretty bummed about this trade.

Seems like the A's moving to Las Vegas is just about a done deal, if you believe the media from Las Vegas. Multiple reports that the A's have entered into a binding agreement with Red Rock Resort to buy a package of land in Las Vegas.

From the sole Oakland beat writer left, reporting that the City of Oakland (which owns the Howard Terminal area that was slated to be redeveloped to fit in the new ballpark for the A's) has ceased negotiations with the club. After 50 years in Oakland, looks the A's are on the move again.

Terrible season so far, so we'll take the little wins where we get them. Here's Luis Medina's first ever MLB strikeout. Freezing Mike Trout with a curveball at the top of the zone.

I'm genuinely shocked when I get a notification of a win after such a terrible start to the year. The roster had been questionable for many seasons, but would often find a way to compete... But it looks like they desperately want to leave Oakland with no regrets of losing a competitive team - loading up the draft for their arrival in LV

We gave up Sean Murphy in exchange for Esteury Ruiz, but he's been one of the few bright spots in a horrible first month of baseball.
