A game where the idea of a finals jumper clash was so abhorrent to the AFL that they made the home team change their jumper. At least we made lemonade from the lemon decision.

At some point during the 2019 season the club language officially switched from premiership contending to developing. It’s disgusting. In no way should the leaders that have delivered the last 5 years of results be allowed to continue over the next 5 years. We’re going no where with these jokers.
And this has happened without us ever actually contending in the first place

Just had to go back and watch the first half again .. What a game that was by our players, :)
Geez, love the "Prison Bars'. Will be great to see them in the two showdowns next year .. :)

Took this screen shot first quarter ..:heartpulse:
Bruce McAvaney ... They've got six , not one, not two, three, four, five, they've got six .. o_O
Wonder if we will ever do that again.

And then Richmond wore their clash top anyway.

And 3 years later won a premiership in their yellow with black sash guernsey.
The world didn’t end and people didn’t confuse them with the Sandgropers.

Clash guernseys are good for football. Our league needs to grow up.

If nothing else it sells more gear. Diehards would want one of each guernsey (well, I did until that grey one came along, and I even have the sliver/teal waterfall one whatever that is called).

yeah how can those meatheads be copying everything straight from those seminars in the USA every single offseason but somehow not notice the faultless jersey setup they have in say the NBA. the AFL would froth over selling people home/away/clash/just in case clash/heritage/country/pride/etc jumpers. i think it comes back to being scared of diluting the brand and the basic "colors are tribal and sacred!!! but our song says yellow and black no yellow black and green!!!" outlook we have in Aussie Rules.

I love the NBA at the moment with all their one offs, throwback classics and seasonal jerseys. So creative and a money making machine.

Meanwhile in the AFL. "We're Black n White Duuurrrrrr"

Just saw this article on inDaily regarding the lack of member elected board positions at the SA football club. It's framed as mostly being about the Crows but we get a mention too.

Interesting that this issue is getting some attention outside of the sports pages. Although our voting in of Gavin Wanganeen a few months ago does tend to indicate that if we were given the power to elect more board members we'd probably just waste it anyway.

Port Adelaide have announced the first four new board members voted in by the members.

David Rodan
Thunda Power
Hugh Sheridan
Barry Curtin

It’s funny cause it’s true.

Kenny would meet the quota too, like Abbott bestowing a knighthood upon Prince Philip.

Lol Hammer is going to be sanctioned by the SANFL for calling bullshit on social media re: SANFL suspensions of Billy an Johnson.

Not sure how they have any power to do * all to him.

SANFL: Suspends Billy Frampton.
HH: "That's bullshit."
SANFL: Rescinds Billy Frampton suspension on appeal.
SANFL: Sanctions Hartlett anyway even after tacitly admitting he was right

But yeah, what happens if Hamish just says he's not paying whatever fine they decide to impose? What power does the SANFL have to do anything about it?

They can hit us on the umpire scoreboard.

I saw someone suggest on FB that since Hamish is "employed by the SANFL", then he could be suspended for matches.

That's the level of delusion some of these idiots have.

The only disappointing bit here is the lack of call out by other players. With Hammer threatened every player, coach and administrator should be tweeting / calling out the same thing. FFS, we know at some point it's got to be either us or the SNAFL left standing as anything, but an historical oddity. Start the war publicly now and get the disaffected Port fans engaged.
