He was with us in 2004 until he was appointed at Hawthorn you burke.

So how does our 2004 mission accomplished atmosphere have anything to do with Clarkson?

Russell etc were all out of contract and were gone anyway.

It doesn't I never said it did he swooped in while we bathed in it.

Russell wanted to stay from what I heard but we didn't value him highly enough $ Clarko did, we let this all happen but he's still a villain & not a god he just took the best ppl from a set up he knew and probably laughed his ass off at us while he did.

I don't hate Clarkson for that. I hate us for letting him do it.

All he's doing is exactly what we'd want our senior coach to be doing in the same circumstance. Instead we're stuck with Mr. Somebody's Gotta Lose.
Carn he got us Charlie Dixon from his last job and ........

Well anyway, how good is Charlie Dixon

Random comment coming in but Boak going on those US fitness trips and Gray spending lots of time and being involved with the list management in the offseason, there's a reason why those two are our clear standouts at this club for years now.

Can never question those two when it comes to bleeding for this club.
Boak needs to get a hobby like wakeboarding so he's got something better to do in the off season than trying to be the best he can possibly be.

He surfs. Just hasn't been bitten by a shark yet to piss off the fans.

Chris Pelchen probably had as much to do with the early resurgence of the squawkers as Clarko, but he had his lunch cut at the Power by that absolute failure of a ceo in John James, so I guess he just returned the favour.

Kenny could've at least brought with him the drugs Geelong were on.
That's why I laugh at Blight, Rooch and others who say give Ken a go, look what Bomba (yes that was his nickname before he got to Essendon) did in his 8th year at Geelong, why can't Ken do that in his 8th year?

In 2006, Bomba's 7th year they sacked fitness head Loris Bertolacci in late April, after he stuffed up their pre season. Then Cook does the big internal review. Bomba's 8th season saw him benefit from Dean Robinson being appointed head of fitness and they went from no footy ops manager to Neil Balme getting the gig.

They never talk about Port sacking Mackers and appointing a Robinson and his chemical assistance program.

Vozzo is a gun. An incredibly astute lawyer and also did player management for over 10 years before going into admin.

Would be a huge get.

I just want someone who understands Port Adelaide and fully buys in to the uncompromising drive for success that has atrophied in recent years and that we need to get back. No more mealy-mouthed, excuse-mongering duds intent on dumbing the club down to justify their failure.

Robbie is a special talent but Boak is the best example ever of 'it's not about your talent, it's about what you do with it'. There would be literally dozens of guys who have floated on and off our list over the years with Boak's talent or better who don't make anything of themselves simply because they don't want it as badly as he does.

Boak was pick 6, he's hardly a Matt Thomas Tom Logan type.

He's an underrated mature talent spotter, the established players us then hawks brought in were vital to the flags. Not sure how nobody has made that a specialised role for him somewhere.

Does Hartlett hosting the draftees for a feed tell us something about his character more than our co-cappies or am I just bitter & twisted? or both

They'll be shirtless at Chad Corners sipping coronas after a pre-season trundle any day now.

Or is he just being more visible about it to get kudos towards his captaincy push?

I'm okay with this since the other two never did a ******* thing to indicate they really wanted it. I mean really wanted it.

Wines simply acted like it was his to lose.
