most of us know Grangers name for the wrong reasons but from what I understand, the guy could really play?

For some reason he was my favourite. We had so much talent, including granger, but he stood out.

Perhaps memory changes things but Darren Millane and Granger had a similar presence on the field.

Can people not post pictures of Westhoff, thanks in advance

Looks like everyone is pinning us down for a bottom 6 spot. Admittedly we didn't play well last two seasons, but its not like we have a sub standard list. The list needs to get back to playing their best footy. I will be supremely disappointed if we don't win 13-14 games as a minimum.

Can anyone remember footage of Rohan Smith playing for St Kilda? He was a great wingman/half forward/ruckrover, surprised he didn't play more games of AFL

Chad Cornes needs needs to be banned from instagram for uploading offensive content.
Has he taken his shirt off again and filmed it?

Haha Rohan Smith at St Kilda was the equivalent of letting a Prader-Willi kiddy loose in a candy store.

Rohan and the discipline black hole that was St Kilda was never going to end well.

I've been playing around with the advanced options on the 2016 ladder on the AFL site (I had no idea there even were advanced options). Some interesting facts emerge:

1. Port Adelaide had the equal second highest average winning margin of 50.1 points along with Adelaide. GWS was 1 with 50.6. So when the attack fired and got the ball effectively and efficiently, we scored heavily.

2. Our average losing margin was 32.1 points, which was 8th worst. When you consider that includes losses against Adelaide, GWS, Sydney and Melbourne, which were all greater than that, our defense held up pretty well.

3. We won 12 1st quarters (6th), 12 2nd quarters (7th), 9 3rd quarters (11th) and 12 4th quarters (7th). This proves that we were conditioned to be consistent across the game rather than operate in bursts like every other team, but our focus always faded after halftime because we never put teams away like we should have in the first half.

Compare that to the top eight (quarters better than ours in bold):

Sydney - 17 1st quarters (1st), 13 2nd quarters (6th), 17 3rd quarters (1st), 13 4th quarters (5th) L

Geelong - 12 1st quarters (8th), 13 2nd quarters (5th), 14 3rd quarters (5th), 19 4th quarters (1st) L

Hawthorn - 10 1st quarters (13th), 9 2nd quarters (13th), 13 3rd quarters (7th), 15 4th quarters (3rd) L

GWS - 14 1st quarters (4th), 16 2nd quarters (2nd), 16 3rd quarters (3rd), 15 4th quarters (2nd) LL

Adelaide - 15 1st quarters (3rd), 15 2nd quarters (3rd), 17 3rd quarters (1st), 14 4th quarters (4th) LL

West Coast - 16 1st quarters (2nd), 16 2nd quarters (1st), 14 3rd quarters (4th), 12 4th quarters (8th) L

Western Bulldogs - 12 1st quarters (7th), 9 2nd quarters (12th), 13 3rd quarters (6th), 11 4th quarters (10th) L

North Melbourne - 13 1st quarters (5th), 12 2nd quarters (8th), 9 3rd quarters (13th), 11 4th quarters (9th) W

4. We won 45 quarters over the year - the equal of the reigning premiers.

This confirms what everyone has suspected all along - we were trained for a game of attrition thinking that the rules regarding interchange would effect teams more than they did. It also proves to me that people thinking that St.Kilda (11th, 10th, 12th, 13th) and Melbourne (10th, 9th, 14th, 6th) are going to do anything next year are certifiable.

Do you think he had the ability to have played more games?

I reckon he would have been better suited to another club. Their forward line would have been very Lockett & Loewe-centric in early 90's. Then there was competition in midfield from Harvey, Winmar, & perhaps Burke too.

Boggy Moorabbin Oval probably didnt suit him much too.

Rohan had the ability. He was a freakish specialist half forward.

Rohan Smith is the kind of player Karl Amon might become if we're lucky

Rohan averaged a goal a game over his 250 game career at Port, not bad given he played a number of roles.

On a completely separate note, Wikipedia now lists our female coach and captain under the Power and Magpies which I think is great.

Re:Footage, Find out the specific 3 games he played for St. Kilda and google around & maybe ask the question on the Saints Board simmo_bc

Tim Ginever tells the story well.

After his first season he was pulled aside by the coaches and told he needed to stop drinking and train harder.
He left the meeting and rang Tim to see how things were back at the club. (the way TG recounts this part of the story is hilariously awkward)
Next minute, Rohan Smith is back at Port and plays in 4 premierships.

If I recall the legend correctly he didn't even let St Kilda know he was leaving.
