you are confusing unders with overs...Uh what?
You must be joking. We've won that trade significantly.
For a guy that cant defend 1 on 1.

Danger was essentially the same situation as Lever.Because the alternative with Danger is we got nothing.
I think that pick 18 has gibbs name on it. Francis is more 30+ IMHO.Reckon you guys have won big on this deal, so cudos to your list managers. You now have a big hole to fill down back.
IMHO you should sound out Aaron Francis who in his draft year played more back than forward and has more upside than Lever in terms of talent. You could also lowball Essendon knowing they are desperate for picks. Perhaps pick 18 (what you get from Brisbane for Cameron)

Also,Cheney is still there. I rate him.We don't have a big hole down back. We have Keath and Doedee who are just as good at intercepting etc but unlike Jake are quite good one-on-one defenders.
He will request a trade home at the end of 2019 if he becomes half decent. book itNext man up: Tom Doedee, go get em son
A dud that is a premiership player?Brent is a former Melbourne dud. Mahoney is the current list manager (former Port Dud).
I discovered he has been their head of football since 2011. Great period for the Dees.
No, the cats just gave us those picks out of the kindness of their hearts...Danger was essentially the same situation as Lever.
He was RFA, yes, but both Geelong and the AFC knew that we were able to match any offer they were going to give him. We just didn't go through the process of him accepting an offer and us matching.
Now to do something good with the four first round picks we'll have over the next two years!
Also,Cheney is still there. I rate him.
how do you work that out?Because the alternative with Danger is we got nothing.

when Geelong declined to put in a free agency bid the only threat of losing Danger for nothing was via the PSD, same as Lever.

yeah, so at what point where we at risk of losing Danger for nothing then? They did this purely because a deal was done before hand.
This was so a) they could pay him less and b) we could get something back.
It was mutually beneficial.
whichever draft he picked it would have been difficult to secure passage to Geelong though right?Via whatever draft the player selected to go into. The PSD only thing is not a thing anymore.

Yeah, it's not all about you mateI think unless it is 16 & 18 then it wont be enough for Gibbs, Pick 10 on its own probably gets Gibbs across the line.
I am not sure Francis draft value has dropped that much from being touted as a #1 pick 3 years ago. Francis would be a good contract for you guys to take, could replace Lever at 1/4 of the price. I am not across all of his off field issues but most of them are probably related to playing at Essendon who are a disaster of a club, has had a few injury excuses and he has always been behind Hooker & Hurley for the key back positions so EFC played him forward when it was clear he was more suited to defence.
So when Melbourne play Port next year who do we barrack for?
he is not a kpd ... not even a 3rd tall ... his off field issues are well known ... he is basically troy menzel mk2.I think unless it is 16 & 18 then it wont be enough for Gibbs, Pick 10 on its own probably gets Gibbs across the line.

There really isn't a causal relationship here. Being a premiership player does not preclude a player from being a dud.A dud that is a premiership player?
Jake Kelly will enjoy not having Lever there. We don't have a big hole down back. We have Keath and Doedee who are just as good at intercepting etc but unlike Jake are quite good one-on-one defenders.
Waiting for one of Justin Reid's many "fans" to put up a "TOAST" Justin Reid" thread...According to the AFL's Trade Talk site
Adelaide will receive two first-round draft picks in exchange for defender Jake Lever after a trade deal was struck with Melbourne on Thursday morning at Etihad Stadium.
The Crows will get pick No.10, a future first-round selection and a future fourth-round selection from the Demons and send Lever, pick No.35 and a future third-round selection to Melbourne.
