Also said on 3AW news this morning that he had to be 'rescued' by his parents.

What happened there ? - did they get dressed in commando gear, shoot one of those whaling harpoons out to the booze cruise and abseil out to get him ??

Sounds like something out of a James Bond movie :p

Typical sensationalism by the media

His father was quoted as saying that he was called to pick him up & a few of the Carlton boys waited with Levi until his parents arrived.

The Age said another Carlton player rang his father

This.

Rescued by his parents would be an over-reaction IMO. The way I read it, a player or players contacted his parents, and they came and picked him up. There were also players with him when his parents arrived. The media have made a bad situation even worse by there scurolous reporting.

It is quite possible that being a kid out with the boys, he decided to try and keep up with the big boys drinking and ended up so para that he had to be taped to someone to stop him from trying to walk off the boat.

exactley what i was thinking, i highly doubt that the carlton boys strapped him to a chair against his will and forced him to drink. i do believe however that the boys were drinking and like his dad said he was pretty chuffed to be there and probalby felt left out. He probalby started to drink a little more than usual and for his own safety they strapped him.

This is exactly what they have done. No-one has substantiated that Levi was the victim of anything more than a big drinking session & there has been no substantiation that Mitch Robinson was involved in any incidents, let alone 2 incidents, as initially reported by The Hun.

So far we know that Betts was arrested for being drunk in a public place, as part of a police crackdown on this sort of thing & Walker & Houlihan have been involved in some sort of scuffle at Crown Towers, with Houlihan most likely having been in bed in his hotel room just prior to the incident.

If you were to rely on the headlines you would think our entire playing list had taken over the streets of Melbourne, burning cars, raping & pillaging, like a group of out of control European soccer fans (or Collingwood supporters).

A mate almost got locked up for public drunkeness.. just because he was walking down king street... and he had a few to drink at crown before then... but he wasn't that drunk... If we weren't down the street waiting for him the cops were gonna take him back to the station
