That is an excellent read really... slowing down his approach and reciting the relax, drop mantra as he starts walking in.

I dont think that it follows the same context as your approach thy :D

It's not that Harry can't pinch hit in the ruck. It's more that he has the capacity to be a great stand alone forward so why exhaust him by making him ruck.
Your momentum can be killed with the new rules if you are playing a grigg/dunkley second ruck.
Both Charlie and Mitch need to be flexible to carry Levi but if they can and our midfield continues to get stronger there won't be many that will beat a kreuz 66% and Levi the rest combo.
 
As I keep saying, could easily be the best forward/ruck in the game now he has a midfield that can win the ball and other forwards that need defenders.

As the team improves, his output will get even better. Has a role to play until someone goes past him.

We have too many good talls! Good problem to have but makes the McGovern trade look a bit redundant.

How so. Mitch has the capacity to be all Australian up forward or down back in a few years, appears to be a bit of a loveable rogue that our boys seem to gravitate towards and was prepared to join a club that had won two games the previous year because he saw an exciting future for them.
Seems like an excellent piece of business in a year when we also added Walsh, stocker, setterfield, fasolo, newman and ben silvagni to our list.

It's a Mc Mc Mc swap.
We could have McHenry and McAdam. That's what we traded for McGovern. We'd still have one of Kerr or Casboult to come in as 3rd tall if we wanted.

Instead of Polson, Gibbons and Fasolo being trialled at small forward, we'd have McHenry and McAdam.

Just a better allocation of assets.

Still happy with McGovern, just think we could have done better.

Two things there;
1) Mchenry had nothing to do with the trade. In essence we bundled up a couple of second rounders with some odds and ends and rolled them into pick 13. There is not the merest hint that we would have used it on mchenry. If we know anything it would more than likely have been used on stocker.
2) would do the McGovern trade in the same circumstances in a heartbeat.

Well, this is my first post of the season after a very busy few months, and I am going to dedicate it to big Levi.
I give it to him no end when he has a shocker but credit where it's due, I think his game yesterday was his best in a long time.

His kicking for goal from 50m is a treat to watch when he is on song, and he certainly was yesterday.

Another good thing about Levi's performance was that he kicked 3 in the seniors while McGovern is still finding his feet in the side, Charlie is out with an injury and hasn't been in good form, and Kerr is playing well in the VFL.

Good signs that our forward depth is developing at the same time that the quality in the midfield is starting to rise to the occasion.
 
i'll put my hand up and say that i was one that didn't want him in the team and he probably isn't best 22 if everyone is totally fit and healthy.

but his performance yesterday gives us the luxury of not needing to rush an underdone charlie back into the side. hell if levi can kick straight like that every week then charlie might need to find a new home! trade him to the gold coast for rankine and martin

Are you dense? Of course he wasn't, and neither was McAdams.

That's the point - they should have been.

It's a comparison of what we could have (and in my view, should have) prioritised.

Quality small forward prospect and star state leaguer small forward.

Get it now?

Dense? Listen mate you are trying to re-write history (McGovern cost us mchenry) to suit your own agenda in a Levi casboult thread.
Once again I would take Mitch over the other two in a heartbeat in our current circumstances. Madam made it clear that if left s.a. he would head back there asap. Would rather use the pick we got back (crows third round) on Lewis Taylor and take mcgovern and taylor instead.
