I've always thought with Levi it was a confidence thing. He was a good kick in the TAC cup (didn't he kick something like near 50 goals and like less than 20 behinds?).

He just needs/needed that big breakout game to show him he can do it & get rid of the nerves. Hopefully that was tonight. Very good signs for the future. Now let's just hope the club & Levi decide not to put off contract talks anymore.

It's not the ball drop that is the problem, I worked it out tonight watching him kick for goal.

He walks in straight but with 3-4 steps left before kicking, he swings out really wide on his right so his kicking leg actually slices across the ball at point of impact. If you could get him to walk in completely straight in his approach, it would reduce the chances of error dramatically.

I think it's working for him and it's fine. If you've seen his games earlier in the year you'd notice he was doing this with his field kicking, but had a different style when kicking for goal. What he was doing tonight was a translation from that. Sure it's unconventional, but he's comfortable with it.

It always seemed weird that we'd ever pin any legitimate hope onto him. He was pick 44 in the Rookie Draft. So literally every club in the league passed on him at least 5 or 6 times before we picked him up.

But you watch him last night, watch him this season and you see all that raw potential that he's starting to harness, and boy is it ****ing exciting. Great, great game tonight.

Confidence is a wonderful thing. At this level of the game it is the difference between making it and breaking it. Levi is now showing his worth and what a great asset to have in the years ahead. A forward ruck who can mark around the ground, kick a goal in the forward line, and most of all........ knock 'em over. The knock 'em over part will only get better as more confidence grows.

I look forward to the year when the Blues have Kruezer and Casboult fit and firing at the same time.

There is hope!

Always had the contested mark but to see it more consistently is just fantastic. The most impressive thing has been the way he has built up his fitness. His chasing out of the backline is often so much better than some of our smalls, and I know he won't kick 4 straight every week, but if he can maintain around 60-70% accuracy it'd be a huge bonus

Sheik worked it out.

Mick gave him big thumps up on his presser last night. Saying that he's got an enormous tank, he's a fantastic contested mark, and when he kicks like that he's as good as anyone. He said that the key with Levi is to persist with giving him consistent game time and backing him in, it's all about confidence. Also mentioned that it's been difficult for the coaching staff to convince Levi to believe in himself.

He alao said he tries his guts out, works really hard

So pleased for Levi, hope he keeps it up

I think that there was some heavy duty work on his action when he completely sprayed those OOB's the other week... as soon as he has nailed down the range with his new kicking action and ball drop, he will start nailing a few sausage rolls...
I noticed this since those back to back OOBs too. His kicking has been getting better since that game. Glad to see that knuckling down of his kicking action is starting to pay off...We will have ourselves an A-grade forward if he can continue with the progression he has shown in the past 3 weeks :thumbsu:
