I agree completely. I am a Blues fan first and foremost, and because of that I will support anyone who pulls on a Navy Blue jumper. However, while Cloke is a gun, I'm not really into the idea of signing him and/or Lynch. When it comes to big forwards, we have Casboult, Mitchell and whichever of Hampson/Kreuzer isn't in the ruck. All of those guys are still quite young and should only get better, whilst also being cheaper than Cloke by a long way. I think it really does come down to what sort of future each person wants -- to sign Cloke and go all out to win a premiership in the next couple of years, or to add other lesser-rated pieces and let our youth develop and potentially be a contender for the next 5 to 10 years. Personally, I'm in the second group.

I am decidedly in the second group... I want to see the club get in good quality to complement what we have now, and to continue to develop the kids we have. Getting Lynch in is a cheap filler. We all want to get a premiership in the next couple of years... but I, like a lot of us all, want to see us keep winning premierships on a regular basis over the next 5-10 years.

If GWS comes along and starts hammering the competition in 4-5 years time... then so be it... by then all of our young players will be in their prime and will have all the experience required at winning premierships to hold them off.

Sounds like a good idea, especially considering that no amount of people around here getting their panties in a bunch is going to make one iota of difference as to who we do or don't sign.

Exactly mate. Lets just enjoy the thrill and suspense that the off-season brings every year, and is heightened this year by the implementation of free-agency and the extended trade period. I think the one thing that EVERYONE on here agrees with is that regardless of what happens, we'll all still be screaming ourselves hoarse cheering the boys on next season.
