Absolutely rapt that Levi is showing the goods early. Hopefully he can not only sustain the form but improve upon it.
All he needs to do is sort out his ball drop... from what I saw today, it's dropping out of his hands on a slight lean instead of straight up and down... it is something that can be worked on in the short term. I think that it is based on his imitation of Fev's grip.

How you could say that after what we've seen this season is beyond me. So many things can happen, so many variables in play which can dictate the fortunes, or mis-fortunes as we've experienced this season, of any side in the league.

LOL. Just to clarify, I don't believe that he is capable of playing 20 games in any season.

would prefer it to be technique and not nerves. you can coach technique. cant teach confidence and ability/potential.

i am so happy with him right now.

god i love ess chokers

His ball grip is a massive concern. Yes, I know that Fev had a bad grip too.

I was at the Sydney match a couple of weeks ago watching Casboult barely able to make his way back to the forward line after a mid ground contest.
Yesterday we had him all over the park and still running down quicker players.
Just didn't expect that from the big 501

He does kick around his body the way Duke did also.
Not a bad comparison.
That's the strange thing, I'd expect him to tire and struggle to cover ground even more after what he's come back from...yet his motor is just ticking over even smoother every game.

As Blue Girl was saying, I guess he must have really worked his butt off in his time off the park and now match fitness is really benefiting him.

Not sure this picture strikes fear in the opposition :p

Haha he even has rosy cheeks. You can't help but love him, might be a bit of a cult figure.

is there room for all 3?mitchell was considered by gold coast as one of the 17year old pre draft selections 3 years back so he was at least in the top bracket of kids at that time and could turn out to be a steal just needs a free run at it

yes....there is room for all 3.
Mitchell was the third best overall performer at the club in preseason.
The club is VERY excited by him...
He will be our next CHF....
Great talent, huge mark, plenty of speed.....great kick

I reckon that we will be now allowing Mitchell to finish his development with McCarthy and Squidda will be starting to rotate with Waite as you said.

Levi is going to get elevated this year, we will work on his ball drop and bing bang boom... we have a tall forward everyone has been screaming for.

bing bang boom ? this is Carlton, Badda Bing Badda boom soprano's style please !

Yeh anything can happen can't it..

But North play Etihad so well and they are a chance for top 4, will want to maintain momentum and a home final is also up for grabs...plus Freo have injury concerns, I'll be tipping North.

Love that pic of Levi ... :p

Looks like a real happy-go-lucky kid, but damn he hits packs hard.

Similiar in type to Hawkins, as a burly contested mark, although I don't think we'll ever see that sort of output. The Structure he and Waite add is priceless though. Spine next year:

Jamison
Henderson
Kreuzer
Waite
Casboult

man i hope youre right i cant wait to see what damage we can do if we get in,our mids are back(plus bell)(and mclean:D)our fwd line has the best balance ive seen in a long time and our backs are holding up with help from the mids and all our guns are freshened up

The most encouraging sign I have seen from Levi is something we have missed from our big forwards for a while (with the exception of a fit waite) is that he relishes the physicallity.

A few points yesterday that come to mind;
-countless contested marks
-two run down tackles on dempsey
-but most importantly the goal he kicked from the 50 metre penalty. He ragdolled a bomber to the ground stood up with contact coming, took the mark. Got the 50, put it in the top of the ponsford stand and then gave a bump to dempsey.

Don't get me wrong bravado wont win us flags, but this kind of presence on the field makes other players stand taller and stronger.

We are a totally different side with Waite and Casboult in.

It warmed the heart yesterday to see a kick go to the wing and Waite mark, then him kick to HF and Levi mark. The Blues have missed this badly. I think Walker deserves some credit here too, as he helps straighten us up as a third marking target.

IF Walker isnt being used to plug holes in the midfield, and Gibbs isnt being used to plug holes in defence, then we must be in pretty good shape. Sure we dont have the biggest defensive unit - Jamo, Laidler and Hendo will fix that next year - but the mids and forwards are on fire.
