Just noticed how much Levi enjoys himself. Got such a great goofy grin and baby face for such a big strong unit.

Thank Gawd the fun police haven't taken him to task for his grin like they did Hammer, oh wait on, that was a smug smirk wasn't it...

Yeah it's great and I'm just glad that despite how dodgy his set shots can be, he never drops his head. He just keeps going and presenting. This is a crucial trait I feel.

Anyways I hope those goals he kicked (including THAT one especially :p) gives him a heap of confidence.
 
Don't know why we have to bash a ruckman in a discussion about a KPF prospect.

Once Watson takes up CHB to play alongside Laidler and Jamison, then Casboult goes out so Henderson and Waite can play forward. Lachie was firing againt WC and Norf as a forward. Casboult mightn't even be the best young KPF on our list. Mitchell could push Casboult out if his body holds up. Squida's set shot from 50 went like an arrow and nearly cleared the fence. More athletic prospect than "The Big Meat".

As far as I'm concerned this just highlights that someone like Cloke, while nice to have is not a necessity.

While Waite's body holding together is a journey into the unknown, The emergence of Watson with another pre-season under his belt could free up Hendo as stated, Mitchell's shoulders could stay in one piece (two pieces?) offering another option, Levi's emergence is yet another and we still have Hampson and Rowe to return.

Surely an injury riddled season like this one can't happen again.............can it?

I think Waite will play as much as possible with one of either Casboult or Mitchell, and Rowe as cover.
Eventually Waite will retire leaving those three (or two of them) as our awesome forward line.

Levi is ineligible as he was 21 at the start of the year and you have to be UNDER 21.
Not 21 and under, which is what I originally thought!

He's a rising star to us Carlton fans :)

Hell yeah... I have always thought he would make it. And finally, he shows what he has for us in 5 scintillating games.

I knew he'd make it too. It just goes to show what hard work, dedication and persistence can do.
He's improving in leaps and bounds each week.
The improved goal kicking action will come over time.
He will work on it, there's not doubt about it. If something isn't quite right for him, he will work really hard to improve it.

Or another is Henderson goes to CHB with Jammo while we have the current structure forward. Another is to play both Mitchell and Casboult with Waite playing like as 3rd tall given he has that midfield type ability/versatlity.

Many potentially different ways of setting up now as it stands, the above is just one of them.

I'll still put my money on Mitchell and that's not for putting Levi down, as for my expectations of Mitchell once his game comes together, from what I've seen.

Levi has shown his abilities in 5 games and no one is complaining but we do know how these things can work.

I agree, Levi still has a lot more to prove... but then again, Hawkins did nothing special for the first 3 years of his career and people were calling him a dud. Now look at him after the coach had some confidence to keep playing him.

Injuries have hampered Levi's development (most of last year, most of this year) and he has come into the senior side off of a long term injury and 1 VFL development match and (I think) 1 VFL game. So he came in, no match prep and no match fitness and he is going great guns.

Elevate Levi, keep playing him at CHF next year along side Waite and let him learn on the job, put a years worth of development into Mitchell next year, with a couple of seniors appearances, and in 2014, let him come out and start bashing and crashing like Levi has done.

I am really excited at the prospect of seeing Levi at CHF and Mitchell at FF destroying sides.

Walker can play the same role that Brad Pearce played for us along side of Sticks and the Duke :D
 
Nope... it is definitely not a bad thing.

And after keeping him on the list after 2 PCL injuries in 2 years the club has shown a lot of faith in him and now, he is repaying that faith by being the best that he can be for the club.
 
How good are our recruitment team, WH and SR have plucked us out some gems from the Rookie draft.....every year there seems to be a couple surface.

Just watched the second quarter again (about the 5th time). Our best quarter of footy for a decade IMO. And the roar the crowd gave Caz when he kicked that 50 meter from the boundary....hairs standing on neck stuff, has it been nominated for Goal of the year this week?

I think that he is going to have a field day this week against GC17. Here's hoping that he comes out and absolutely destroys their defence and kicks 6-8 goals.
