Once he gets his kicking working, he will be a very good player, like the way he works hard and clunks the marks. He now knows what he needs to work on and this preseason will be big for him.

Who was the kicking coach that spent time with Hawkins this season?

I remember reading an article earlier in the season about him, and the work he's done with a number of high profile players.

Levi has the tools to become a excellent player at AFL level, but his kicking as it stands will be the thing that holds him back. Sort that out and there's no reason why he can't cause some serious damage at senior level on a consistent basis, as early as next season. But at the moment, having to rely somewhat on Levi and his wayward kicking isn't an ideal situation to be in.

We'd be mad not to get in contact with that coach - does anyone remember his name, or recall reading the article?

The kicking guru who *helped* Hurley?

F.A.R.K- Fossils Accadamy of Relialble Kicking.

Levi? If he's any good get him onto the whole bloody list! Garlett, Murphy, Robinson, Scotland and Simpson have been very hit and miss. Even Gibbs had a poor year in front of the sticks. It's been an issue at Carlton for a long time and it needs to be rectified somehow.

Why does a good finish to the year trump a good start to the year?
It was not meant as a comparison in time but in form - I could easily have written the good form he showed but didn't labour over my post. If you or MM think Hammer showed as much at the start of the year then you would have him at the top of your pecking order. I am backing the natural marker of the ball (Levi) but as I have said before - I could see Hammers tap work as a threat to Kreuze

Hammer is a massive threat to Kreuzer. One can take a mark, the other is bloody ordinary in the air. We might actually do better with two marking ruckman in the team than 1 marking ruckman and one guy who makes up for it by doing a few other things.

One of them can play through injury.

Since Matthew Lappin left as forward coach.

Kreuzer is a workhorse who was practically galloping on 3 legs.

IF he can get and stay truly fit (a hard task with the Carlton Tall Dude Curse), I think we'll see marked improvement with Matty.
