Nice!

Would have been nice to get a pick in the 30s for SPS but happy that we can now move on for all parties involved.
To be fair, even if we had received a pick say in the 40's it probably would have gone here.

The actuality is that we swapped sps for Young. Not sure that will make some on here any happier though.

Some highlights for your viewing. He's a good mark with safe hands. Plays courageously, not scared to crash a pack. Quick off the mark to pick off balls delivered off the mark into the F50. Not much footage of his kicking, but his technique looks a little iffy. He could definitely put on some muscle, would love to see him partner up with Weiters over the preseason to put some muscle on and further his defensive trade craft.

Can see Liam taking him under his wing.

You just know that Liam is the kind of guy that would help a young guy in any way he could with little to no regard for his own position in the 22...

Key defenders can take a while to come on and their improvement continues well into their late 20's/early 30's. Richmond and West Coast have been shown this recently.

Could learn a lot from Jones, who's career was dead in the water before he was transitioned into defence. Started as a reasonably loose tall defender, but has worked on his craft and become one of the best/most effective one-on-one players in the comp.

Looking forward to seeing how he goes. Has the physical capabilities and nous.

Could recruiting Young mean that we don't need another ruck on our list?

I wouldn't plan to play him in the ruck, but if BOTH Pittonet and TDK are injured AND Mirkov isn't ready, Young can hold the fort for a few weeks...

Saves us having to have four rucks on the list, competing for only 1-2 spots....
