Rumour Liam Ryan

It's not the clubs fault they are sponsored by TheWest. Naturally TheWest is going to report favourably, but you're kidding yourself if you think there's equal representation.

Only need to look at the media too. I mean Barich reads the news for crying out loud? The guy can't EVER do it without stuttering or pausing or stuffing up his words.

How many Nic Nat Channel 7 specials do they do? Kidding youself if you don't think there's major dollars going towards him there.

I don't think The Eagles are 'Evil Corp'. They're a tremendous club.

But both clubs aren't treated equally.

The Liam Ryan incident is a microcosm of the big picture. It was all 'mental health and get around him'.

Tell me. Were Johnson, Bennell, Yarran, Hill afforded the same?? Not a chance.

Lastly, charities?? All clubs do that mate. They ain't Mother Teresa there.

The bitterness in your post is sad ....

It's great that West Coast will support him.. and I quote "“The club will continue to educate Liam around this matter, always placing his health and wellbeing as the major priority.”"

We must always support drink drivers, as their health and wellbeing is paramount. If they kill someone, that's just collateral damage. Support drink drivers at all costs. They are indeed the victims...

Yeah of course, last thing you would want to do is honour a drunk driver.

On an unrelated note, who won this year's Darren Millane trophy?

Oh wow, that is awful. Truly awful. His poor partner and kid.

(For those not yet across it - it's a Domestic Violence allegation, and an associated restraining order).

That is probably his AFL career done, too. You can't be celebrated as a sporting role model and have that on your rap sheet.

He should be suspended while investigations are ongoing, and if found guilty, sacked immediately.

First and foremost hope his family is ok/safe. Even if he gets through this the Eagles will count themselves lucky they got a flag out of him because he isn’t going to have a long AFL career.

No it isn't, he was issued a move on notice after and argument outside a hotel

There was no physical evidence (that the attending officers could see) that he caused harm to the person so was issued a move on notice which he complied with. He did not break the move on notice either

Jumping to conclusions there, he hasn't been charged with anything yet either.

The Age is reporting it being a family violence incident with a 72-hour police order.

You are correct about my wrong usage of the word "charge".

Officers spoke to a 20-year-old woman at the scene and as a result of investigations, then spoke to Ryan who was subsequently issued the order.

No complaint has been made to police and there is no suggestion of any charge being laid against Ryan.

According to WA Police, a police order is issued when police hold concerns for the safety and welfare of a person.

Police can issue the order even if the person/s involved have not asked for one.

So they had an argument, the cops want to big note themselves by giving him the order even when nobody asked for it. Nothing to see here move on

Which is not the same as restraining order in the traditional sense. "Move on notices" are handed out in the hundreds over the weekend in Perth.

They are a power that the Police have to make you stay away from an area for a few days (they do not restrain you from seeing/contacting another person/people)

As long as you comply with it, and he has, they aren't a big deal. If you break one then that's a different story....

If he's charged with something, by all means go to town (I sure will), but until then he hasn't committed any crime.

Which ever way you want to look at it, it ain't a good look for him or the club.
Especially after his latest drink driving episode.

He's treading on thin ice I'd imagine.

He best straighten up. Was one of our best in the finals. But we grabbed him knowing he had baggage, hoping the club knows what to do from here.
You would think the 1st order of business is counselling dave123 can help
