He thinks he put his elbow up to defend himself. If he put his elbow up, it would of hit Knights in the chest, or just below the throat.
Knights is 178cm tall, Libba is 163.
Im sorry but i believe there is no possible way that Knights could get a cut above his eye with Libba just putting his elbow up. There is no logical way. Im sure his elbow doesnt protrude around 13cm above his head if he put his elbow up.
Im 5'11...if i put my elbow straight above my head it is about 3 or 4 cm above the top of my head..not 17.

He is full of shit. Unless Knights was running with his head down, then maybe. But then again, why would Knights run at him with his head down. I think he he king hit him Leigh Matthews style except instead of a fist, he swung his arm out and connected him with his elbow that way.

What ever way it happened...you dont put your elbow up to defend yourself, and seeing as Libbas elbow wouldnt reach Knights forehead anyway...i beleive his confession is one big load of shit!

well it sounded to me like someone wrote an appology for him and he was reading it without even meaning a word of it but than i watched him say that he is sorry and you could see that he was generally sorry. I think that when a footy player goes onto the field he sometimes does things which are the spare of the moment stupid decisions... after all they are humans and we all make mistakes.
I think that he is really sorry for what he did and instade of being made to read that little speech which was clearly written for him and ment nothing he should have just said that what he did was wrong and that he was sorry.
Furthurmore i think that Richmond, although i can understand where they were coming for, shouldn't have go stuck into the Bulldogs because then you are just as low as they are and in the end they will get hurt by being suspended or fined. Another thing is that stupid comment by the Tiger's coach about revenge... that was completely unprofessional and stupid of him to say that, he sounded like a junior netball coach rather than an AFL coach.

RIchmond should have a good hard look at the way they played the game after Knights was hit. Soft, weak, and outplayed.
Frawley was shown up for the poor coach he is by becoming distracted and not concentrating on the game at hand.
Campbell running around giving away free kick for goals. Great example as a captain.
All in all a very tardy effort from a team in the finals once in 20 years.
As patrick Smith labelled the Bitchmond footy club - MARSHMELLOWS.

Where does this load of sh*t come from? Some idiot Tiger supporting radio hack makes it up, so it's solemn fact.

I heard that it was actually Frawley with the board, with Libba's name circled, and giving instructions to take him out.

Wallace wouldn't worry about Knights who is like all the Tigers, soft. The only instructions he gives are what any coach gives in regards to opponents and that is to beat them.

Why don't we wait for the results of the enquiry as to what Libba did or didn't do, instead of getting into a frenzy over what the commentators who didn't even see it are loudly telling everyone he did.

If there's no 'logical' way he could hit him, then how did he king hit him with an elbow to the head?

I know you mentioned the Matthews incident, but it was before my time, so I haven't seen it, and don't know what you mean by him elbowing 'that way'.

I think you missed one point though. His confession, no matter how lame, has meant that Libba's given himself no chance of getting himself off the charge through lack of video evidence etc. I know you think he may have been doing it to save his own arse..... and that might well be true...... but overall, by coming out and apologising, he's smashed the 'code of silence' to pieces for all future incidents, and more importantly, has left Knights/Cambell without any dilemna whatsover on whether to speak out truthfully against any 'unwritten rules'.

Anyway Macca, if that footage that you mentioned in another thread comes to light, and it shows Libba smashing him with an elbow to the head when Knights wasn't even looking, you wont hear any arguments from me for whatever sentence he gets... be it 4 weeks... be it 10.

BUT, in my mind one thing is set until I see otherwise: Libba's not the type of bloke to king-hit a player when he isn't even looking. Scratching and 'dirty' niggling tactics, although not within the spirit of the game, are quite different to smashing a bloke when he isn't expecting anything (as I'm sure some people would agree). Why hasn't he tried to SMASH players into next week, before? You would have thought that if he would have had numerous 'king-hit' incidents in the past. He loves beating opponents... albeit by annoying them to death (and controversial tactics)... but he wants to beat his opponent on the day.... not 'winning' by king hitting them so he doesn't see them for the rest of the match. Until I see the footage..... as someone who has looked up to him as a hero for most of my life, I wont believe it.

I still reckon that if it wasn't Libba involved.... and there had have been less bleeding.... we wouldn't have heard half of some of whats been said.... but if I see proof that he has done it..... as much as I love the bloke and the club.... there is absolutely no excuse and he should receive the appropriate penalty.

On the bright side (there aren't 'many' postives to come out of this!), at least the suspension will give Contessa (long term Libba replacement

) another chance at proving himself again after getting BOG in the ressies last week.
