Is there a succession plan in place when the time arrives for the end of Gordon's second tenure as Club President?

I wouldn't mind seeing Chris Grant in the role if he wants it, after Gordon either steps down or the board decides he should relinquish the role of president.

i remember a few days after the GF, a foxsports news reporter said he heard gordon would leave soon

Yep this thread will go to shit, but I don't think your Chris Grant suggestion is a great one. Preferably we need a successful person with a diverse background (not just footy and definitely including Business), and someone who knows the intricacies of our wonderful, yet dramatic Football club....

Scotty Wynd has had an impressive post Football life and is worth a buck, a very impressive person also.

I believe Susan pulled back on many of her duties for extended family reasons.

Peter Gordon comes in makes a few big calls that win us a flag, then the following year he keeps a low profile and we miss the finals and now you want to get rid of him???!!
Forfuksake - Gordon dragged us up and made us relevant again. The single most important person at our club. The only Bulldogs person that can talk down to the head honchos at AFL headquarters. If you saw the FoxFooty round table last year when he was talking/debating with McGuire, Colless, Kotchie ect... it was apparent that he dwarfs pretty much all the other presidents in knowledge both in and out of the AFL system.

Gordon has done a great job. Pretty well known he's a hard taskmaster though. Concern is that when it goes sour he might cause some trouble (he's removed a lot of people quite quickly) and let's be honest, it has already turned a bit sour.

I think he needs someone he respects who tells him 'no Peter' occasionally. I hope we already have that person and we outsiders just don't know who they are.

I don't want to jump to conclusions, but who are you referring to here? I don't think dogwatch and murphy2bethebeast were being serious when they suggested Richard Branson and Matt Dougie take over the reigns from Peter Gordon, not was I suggesting I want him gone in the OP.

I hope Gordon sticks around for a long time to come. Along with Bev, he was the most important person in bringing us the very long awaited premiership. 2 big thumbs up for me.
