I also think Lennon is a prick, but not for 'Imagine.' Although the song is nothing but basic beginner Zen 101 wrapped up and presented as mind-blowing hippie guru philosophy, Lennon's money is irrelevent. He's presenting an idea that anyone of any net worth could examine. I don't think he's advocating no possessions any more than he thinks it would be practical to have no national borders. He's just asking the listener to imagine those things and re-evaluate their world view. Also you have to keep in mind he's mostly talking about the uptight nazi jackasses prevalent in that time period who were culturally in direct opposition to the stupid smelly hippie jackasses - like Lennon.

But yeah, the one million reasons not to like John Lennon could easily be its own thread.
