So, had to go to the funeral of the son of a friend from work today. Kid was 20, and died from what they believe was an accidental overdose (meth).
Just a horrible horrible thing to have happened. They're the most lovely family, but no parent should have to bury their kid. I didn't know the boy, but he seems to have been a lovely guy, albeit one who hadn't yet found his "thing" in life and thus had been drifting a bit this year.
So many of us go through patches like that, especially as kids, and to lose your life is such a stiff price to pay for a bit of poor judgement.
