Think this deserves its own thread.

It's been confirmed that Wines will miss about 4-6 weeks with a wrist injury, which is very disappointing. Especially since he's played every single match since he debuted in Round 1, 2013, which makes it 52 consecutive matches.

The point of this thread, is just to track how we perform without him over the next few weeks, and see what difference his absence in the team makes. It's something we've never experienced or dealt with before, so that's why I for one, am very interested to see how we do go without him.

Get well soon, Ollie!

I'm really sceptical with the 4-6 weeks recovery, I fear this injury is going to derail his whole year, Ollie's game relies on him being able to have clean ball handling , tackling and fending off, a dodgy wrist and ligaments will be under constant pressure all season, I hope I'm wrong as Ollie being 100% fit and raring to go is crucial to our season

Unfortunately Ken has demonstrated he does sometimes rely on individual players for team success (Trengove, Lobbe). Overcoming a missing Ollie will be a huge challenge for the club. This year he has been exceptional, and added some great lead up marking, forward line play, so that's 2 roles we need covered. No other player has Ollie's physical traits, his size, height, weight, power. A serious restructure of our midfield unit. I honestly think we would find it easier to cover a missing Boak or Gray in a type for type deal.

PJ Power or any other medico why would he have his upper arm bandaged up or if its bandage covering a plaster, if he has dislocated a wrist? Does thar mean it might not be a simple dislocation injury?
At a guess the arm is plastered beyond the elbow to restrict all possible wrist movement.

You can still twist your wrist if the plaster doesn't go beyond the elbow. Google tells me the movements are called pronation and supination.

Hope that's on the money.

4-6 is just a standard cover though innit, he could be back in 3 or 4 with our team?

yes we will have to change the way we set up in the middle without the big bulldozer taking up so much space, if Lobbe is back it will help our on-ballers, I hope to see Young take some attention away from Gray and Boak, Hartlett has to get inside if his body will allow it, we just need more numbers in there anyway..!

Lobbe comes back in, restores missed tackling and pressure within stoppages >>> Young takes Ollie's spot, becomes the grunt of the midfield >> Boak, Gray, Ebert are also forced to take up contested roles in the midfield >>> Wingard and Monfries play further up the ground, allows Wingard to get more of the ball and return back to form >>> O'Shea/Impey comes back, Krakouer goes forward. Easier said than done :')

Also, what position does/will Ah Chee play normally? Seemed to be making a lot of tackles when he came on as sub last week.

Yes. And more midfield time for Chad. Krakouer to go forward when Impey returns.
I would love to see Chad get more time in the midfield where he probably played a bit more in 2013. I'm thinking Hartlett could be the big aggressor in midfield though, like Ollie.
