How many celebrities will celebrate 420 on Sunday? It's always impossible to tell as so few will admit it, but British pop wreck Amy Winehouse appears to have made an early start on the "High Holiday" or at least it appears that way from a photo published by the News of the World newspaper. So what is 420 you ask?

I'm guessing it is marked on some calendars, but you have to buy them from the right retail outlet. There are all kinds of rumors and urban legends about how exactly the date was started including the claim that the official code for marijuana possession in California is 420. (That's false though). Oh, and the snapshot of Amy is here is she ready to celebrate? You decide.​

CBS 5 reports that according to High Times magazine, 420 originated in 1971 by a group of students, known as "the Waldos," at San Rafael High School. Each day the kids would gather and smoke weed at 4:20 pm and that was then their code for talking about the drug without raising any suspicion. It took a few years to catch on, but now it is celebrated by many in the counterculture all over the world.​
