I didn't leave him out, I said he was the only comparable example of your three. Lever and Howe together would be destructive and Lever will be a Rance for the next 10 years. Game is changing and the goal square gorilla is more a dinosaur now.

Yes and I'm going to judge a player on one single game because that's what you do when you are out of ideas.

They are saying he is unproven as a KPP and has struggled in 1v1 stuff to date.

What happens if he is just excellent at his current role and when asked more of, only ends up adequate or a lesser player then expected?
Would you be happy that they dropped 2 first round picks then?

The problem with Lever is cost more then anything.

Giving up 2 first's for an unproven player (which as a CHB or FB he is) is too steep even if you feel somewhat risk mitigated by his 3rd in form to date.

Prefer to hit the draft the next 2 years, further consolidate our list and develop from within.

Rather then blow 2 drafts for a good youngster.

People said that after the Essendon game and then again after Curnow beat him vs Carlton....

So how many "1 game" makes a few games?

I agree on cost but that wouldn't be a problem if we hadn't gone fossil with Mayne and Wells and even Greenwood wasn't a value pick up for the future, doubt he's at his peak in our window but this kid is a star and the prototype of the future, yeah he's not holding Buddy at 21, but who does?

Yeah Lever isn't like Rance, Rance looked terrible early and was almost delisted he had matured into a great player but you couldn't compare him to Lever at the same age as Lever is far better

Oh please he's a star and you and Mike know you aren't getting him so it's time to save face by dissing him :)

We would trip over ourselves to offer Lynch 2 x 1st rounders even though he'll be 26 past his prime and won't come within kooee of Lever for impact.

Rance wasn't terrible he was average but either way theor whole game styles a different. Rance relies on his athleticism whilst Lever relies on smarts. They're just too different players regardless of whether it's at the same age or not.

Past his prime at 26? Lever bigger impact then Lynch on our team? You're off ya rocker mate.

Would love to see Lever trying to get back to the defensive 50 to stop our stupidly high press from leaking out the back goals...

I'm certain he's become the most overrated player in the league.

You know you are comparing a kid Rance who had to play on the likes of a in form Cloke, Franklin, N.Reiwoldt, J.Reiwoldt, Roughead, Kennedy amoung others vs current Lever whos biggest test to date was a half vs Daniher...

Rance did his apprenticeship as a KPP. Lever has so far largely been shielded from them.

Do the math, when do you think we gave Cloke the big 5 year deal, and when did he play his best footy?

We might need Lynch more but we would be paying for past performances and big keys hit the wall earlier.

    Yep possibly.

So people saying he's completely risk free compared to a drafted player are wrong.

Fancy wanting to give up 2 firsts for him.
