Agree with that. Nothing wrong with grabbing him it makes me happy we are getting a new player and all that but as so becoming a much better side I don't feel like he is going to be the difference.
Everyone, archive this troll and revisit in 12 months.

Prediction is........I think you know the rest.

I think with his speed, tackling, ability to score a goal and cheap price... Jong can potentially fill the defensive forward 50 role that Goldsack excelled in (I think it was 2012) before he slowed due to injury. We have been terrible retaining the ball inside 50 this year, and Jong can rotate into the midfield if needed and team wide probably has more scope and versatility than another specialist forward in Crocker. So i.e:

Jong Moore Elliot
Fasolo Cox Varcoe

Jong and Varcoe chasing down would cause havoc IMO

If that were the case, there'd by nothing stopping AFL clubs from recruiting young basketball centers.
.

I dont give a rats if the Bulldogs pass on Witts. But I'll bet you didnt rate Max Gawn two years ago either.

Go ahead, get a basketball player. We did, and hes partly the reason Witts may be for sale. Do the Dogs have the luxury of a high risk long term punt?

The six players opposition clubs are hoping to entice into the annual rucking revolving door are Jarrod Witts (Collingwood), Nathan Vardy (Geelong), Zac Clarke (Fremantle), Majak Daw (North Melbourne), Tom Downie (GWS), and Tom Nicholls (Gold Coast).

So theres the unofficial list of ruckmen on the market.

Vardy possibly the pick of the bunch on talent but has a terrible injury record And hes more a forward than a ruckman, hardly what the Dogs need. If Witts isnt the best value of that bunch as a prospective long term number one ruckman I dont know who is.

We do complain that no one press pressure on Blair. Jong could be a part of the solution. Who else plays that role? Broomhead, except he isn't defensive enough and is always injured. Crocker. Who else?

Fasolo and Elliot

Elliot and Fasolo would be handy too. Out of sight out of mind...

Nobody tackles harder than Fasolo

I think Fasolo and Elliot are best used as marking forwards... similiar to Breust and gunston at hawks... we don't want them too banged up.

Being bigger and quicker than Blair... Jong would perform the inside fifty pressure role better than Blair and with less consequence to the forward line structurally and scoring wise if he gets banged up a little in the process... than what it would be losing Fasolo and Elliot.

Forward fifty pressure is a team effort but I also like the idea of the ball being spilled from the Jong tackle and having fasolo and elliot crumb, receive the handball or spread for the marking option, rather than them being tied up in a tackle.

l am 50/50 on the guy, has the pace we need and l have watch him play and goes quite well
as said not a great kick but that's cause he does not take that steading step before kicking.
kicks to much going full tilt. hard at it. if they could get him to tidy up a few things he could be a good asset

I don't think Jong has the intensity of Blair to play a pressure role and I don't think Elliott and Fasolo being marking forwards exempts them from chasing and tackling. Watching Jong he always looks half haerted.

Too tall, so pass as we only want short people or giants in our forward line.

Half seriously he could be an upgrade on Blair/Broomhead as he runs both ways.

Probably not as much scoreboard involvement from what I have seen.

Blair is underrated a lot around here but sure the naysayers would be happy if Jong were to push Tyrion out.
