Poor DS Arnott. He's a smarmy little turd, but he didn't deserve that ...Bolt cutters.

Yeah, that will be a very interesting plot point. My tip is that it won't be a main part of the plot, but we'll see it intersect with the main season arc towards the end. What happens with Ryan in series 6? He's joined the cops now but if he comes across Steve I doubt he'll have forgotten the whole trying to take off his fingers thing. It will be interesting to see if Simon Banerjee, the copper from season 1 who he namechecked at the interview ia in it as well. Also am I not alone in thinking/hoping Jimmy Lakewell from season 4 is brought back, he had all the best lines, the one were he told Ted to dial down the whole Ian Paisley thing was brilliant.
Season 2 is definitely when it really kicks into gear. The first season is still good tele, but nowhere near the hype that came after seasons 2/3 (which I definitely think is justified).I decided to use the rest of my free trial of Stan on watching this given the hype its received.
I must be missing something about the first season because I didn't think it was all that great (as I posted in the "What are you watching" thread), but thanks to lockdown I persisted with it and I'm glad I did.
Seasons 2 and 3 are top class (thanks in large part due to Keeley Hawes and her brilliant acting I think), and season 5 isn't that far behind. I found the production value of Season 4 pretty good, but the story/writing didn't even meet the standards of S1 imo.
I'll definitely be watching S6 whenever it comes out next year
(Off topic but Bruce’s Letter 2 U doco in the making of the new album comes out next Saturday on Apple TV/Disney App)On to ep 6 of S2. Bloody great show.
Finished this show in two weeks... It is outstanding and hands down one of the best shows I have watched... S3 is undoubtedly one of the greatest seasons of any TV show I have watched. Up there with Dexter S4, Breaking Bad S5 and Fargo S1. Incredible television.
If I had to rank them
S3
S2 (because of its relevance throughout)
S5
S1
S4
And they were all fantastic.
Such a great show.Yep, it's one of my favourite shows as well... Yet, I have issues with Season 3 myself (I needed more Waldron), so we're probably coming at it from different angles and getting the same result.
I read an interview with Daniel Mays where he said reading the script for the first time he thought he had a great charcter that he'd be able to get his teeth into only to find out he was killed of at the end of the first episode.Such a great show.
I was surprised he got killed off so early, but it made sense.
He was a prick of a character and I wasn't sad that he got turfed.I read an interview with Daniel Mays where he said reading the script for the first time he thought he had a great charcter that he'd be able to get his teeth into only to find out he was killed of at the end of the first episode.
Really no idea mate, I want Jimmy Lakewell to come back if only because he got all the best lines. Telling Ted to dial down the Ian Paisley was great. He was a prick of a character and I wasn't sad that he got turfed.
Man, what a show.
Who do you think the fourth person could be? Someone we already know, or a new character?
I loved Ted's line to Huntley's fed rep (Moffat) when he rips out "Federation Rep or not, you will refer to me Chief Superintendent".Really no idea mate, I want Jimmy Lakewell to come back if only because he got all the best lines. Telling Ted to dial down the Ian Paisley was great.
Iconic line.I loved Ted's line to Huntley's fed rep (Moffat) when he rips out "Federation Rep or not, you will refer to me Chief Superintendent".
Hastings my favourite character.
So I watched the final episode a couple of nights ago and it was fantastic (as Gasometer suggested it would be). So now, let the discussions begin:
What was your favourite season?
1 - Tony Gates
2 - Lindsay Denton
3 - The Caddy
4 - Roz Huntley
Who is your favourite member of AC-12?
Steve Arnott
Kate Fleming
Ted Hastings
For me, I thought Season 2 was the best, purely because Lindsay Denton was such an amazing character and it highlighted just how morally ambiguous all the characters are. But of course, I loved all 4 and never felt like any was a step back from other seasons.
And my answer to the second question has to be Ted Hasting, yes, like the battle. I mean, surely everyone's favourite is Ted Hastings, right?
See above. 3 is up there with the best seasons of TV I have watched.Finished this show in two weeks.

But, I did find it unusual in S4 how nobody noticed that Roz Huntly did not move/use her left arm at all during the entire interview process. These guys are obviously super switched on but how did none of them notice it? The fed rep even poured the water for her.
Wonder who the fourth person is?
He could still be H, we knows he's never quite been completely honest about his private life and there was that money that it looked like he gave to Corbett's widow so he's not beyond reproach.See above. 3 is up there with the best seasons of TV I have watched.
Love Hastings, real no bullshit kind of guy.

Me too, he's great. No bullshit kinda guy.Hastings would be a fantastic boss to work for. I'd be gutted if he turns out to be bent

Yeah, I don't like the idea of it at all. It would undermine the whole show and not in a good way.If he was bent it would almost destroy his character.
